David Lee had 12 points and nine boards in a loss.

This is the good thing about the Triangle in that if you don't have an amazing PG, you can still be effective as long as you have decent passers everywhere else. Not great, but just decent. That's the focus of the Triangle. Your forward is a ball mover too. You want guys who have well rounded skills. If every player on the floor is at least capable of making good passes then you're going to be successful. They don't have to be special, but of course that helps. It think this is why Phil is trying to see if Odom has anything left. His ability to pass and handle the ball is a very helpful skill.

You think that Amare is capable of being a good passer?

Amar'e has never had to pass in his career. Don't know what his BB IQ and passing ability are to be honest.
He actually flashed some pedestrian passing late this year. He REALLY needs a lot of work in it, but to be honest we're only talking about having to deal with that for next year and possibly only until the trade deadline. Who knows. I'm more curious to see if Tyler and Cole have some ability to do it.

This is a major change to switch to practicing making passes and thinking the game. Up til now, guys like STAT haven't had to think much. We haven't worked on ball and player movement and so this is an entire team refocus to a motion offense. We're gonna learn a lot about the players on this team. If you don't have a Gasol and Odom to help speed up the process of learning ball movement it can take a long time to teach.

Cole can pass.

And, Tyson actually can shoot. Don't know why it was not in Woodys play book.

I am really interested to see what Odom brings. Not sure if it was his back or his conditioning but I read a report where he only was able to stay on the floor for 2 minutes in his first game in Spain. I hope he is able to get his life together. It would be a huge bonus if he could play basketball at a competitive level for the Knicks.
