And that was just to stick it to LA for passing on him (again). And having Ron Peace in the box was just an FU to Woody and a nice way to tell him that no effin way is a loser like you gonna touch my triangle. We are paying him 12 million dollars a year and he can't even show up to games on the west coast?
Not a good sign at all. Was this just a money grab for him and a face to give to the press for jimmy d?
I wish that Jax would hire a real GM to work under him like a Ryan Mcdonough. Jax looks like he is and will be in big time lazy mode. I read somewhere that in his last year with the lakers, he barely practiced with his team.
I am catching an ugly smell
What Team Presidents you know of that travel with the team?
I would like to see his as much as I see Riley - which is a lot.
He could have gone to the west coast games. He should go to the east coast games as well.
Riley travels with team? You know this?
I did not say that.
I said that he is seen at the games (certainly in Miami) and that I would like to see Phil as hands on as Riley is not just a guy that sits home and watches tape.
I guess Isola and Berman have already commented on how they can't find Phil to personally interview and photo Jackson at games, we'll add you to that list. It's growing.
Phil is being very suspicious, being team president and all, he should be very visible and make sure to be video'ed etc for us all to judge. It's where they make their mark. I think it's how Bird grew Indiana.
I am not sure if you are being sarcastic but I will assume that you are.
Are you okay with him just sitting home? If yes, how about if its not just this season but next season too?
I love jackson and I was as thrilled as the rest of us that he was brought in. I just wish/hope that he would/will spend more time with the team.
I don't care if he is being video'd or photo'd, I just want to know that he is very active. And, if you are trying to change the culture of a team, don't you think that its important to be very visible (to the team)?
When you are this late in season in playoff hunt desperation, it's up to players and coach. President shouldn't cause distractions. Non visible is best, especially with ny media twisting and turning every word and photo shoot.
I hear that. I am curious what he does if we make the playoffs. Does he just sit back and watch or help us play smarter?
Obviously this will all play out and its too early to reach any conclusions.
I also found that the only game that he showed up to was the laker game and he is yukking it up with Metta. I think that he had many ulterior motives there.
I think that Phil loves that everyone reads into his every move he lives for this (zen) sh1t.
I hear what your saying... we have a guy with 11 rings and we made the playoffs, so why delay trying to integrate what this guy has to offer right? Your thinking is understandable, but its an issueof executing.
Phil is still an outsider. He's in a position of great authority, but he's got no mark on this team or coaching staff, all are left over from the prior regime. So if Woody and the crew make it then Phil steps in? I dont see any way to execute that plan without it coming off as a distraction, or undermining the coaches. Even if they NEED to be undermined, you still dont do it. Its the wrong approach. Phil needs to sit back evaluate.
The time for him to put his mark on the team will come. Its not now
