How sure are you that the Knicks will make the playoffs ?

Do you believe this Knicks team will make the playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed with 10 games left ?
No I don't believe they will get in , opponents are to good.
They will get in with the help of other teams losing.
They will surprise fans and beat good teams and get in
The Knicks will self destruct and miss out on the playoffs.

What teams? Which team is not trying to get in a better position. Indy/Miami, Was/Cha, and Tor/Bk/Chi are all in a race. Miami might want a number one seed. Washington probably doesn't want to drop down to 7 and Toronto, Brooklyn, and Chicago are fighting for home court advantage. Brooklyn has a chance to still the east division and Chicago needs to keep a better record than the 5 seed to keep home court advantage.

with Miami, your talking about one game in a conf. finals. If thats the upside to resting players MAYBE they do that?
Thats a possibility.

As we get closer the the end, some teams might have locked up their spot. If Noah's foot needs rest? If Lebrons ankle is a problem?

Van gundy just reiterated my point on the broadcast discussing the knicks tough schedule. Its brutal but I think they can go .500, atl might lay down at the same time. They tied now, maybe 3-3 does it? This game sets BKN back and if Toronto has a big enough lead..........

They still have to pick up another Game on the Hawks because they will be 1 behind in the loss column AND they don't own the tiebreaker.

If the Knicks go 3-3 and they need the Hawks to go 3-5. If the Hawks go 4-4 than the Hawks will win the tiebreak (KNicks will finish 25-27 in conference and Hawks 26-26).

3-3 means hawks would have to go 3-5. I think we need 4-2 to definitely make it and 3-5 would be a hairy situation but could get in. 2-4 won't do it unless the Hawks go 2-6. I don't see the Hawks playing better than .500 in their last 8.

Don't sleep on the Cavs- they have the easiest schedule by far, and seem determined to make a push (played well their last few games:

Hawks
Bobcats
Pistons
Bucks
Celtics
Nets (who will be resting the final game or would let them win if it meant knocking us out of the playoffs)

They are 31-45 at the moment, they could sneak in (especially if they beat the Hawks next game).

The Hawks Schedule is:

Cavs
Pacers
Pistons
Celtics
Nets
Heat
Bobcats
Bucks

They have two back to backs

I think if you beating Miami in the playoffs it's better to catch them napping in the 1st round. They play better in the later rounds once they figure things out

there is no such think as a easy schedule for any of the teams in the hunt..the hawks, knicks and Cavs have loss to every single team they have to still play, and the hawks and cavs are not press to make the playoffs like the knicks.


besides that, the knicks have payback win against the bulls, wiz, and rapts..

The Knicks are coming together at the right time. They are very unstable still. They can either win by 20 or lose by 20 to any team

Well I think the knicks have taken on a different kind of approach this season.

Last season it was get off to a good start and win the division
RESULTS
Some players peaked to early and others got injured down the stretch

This season just the opposite
RESULTS
Players are peaking at the right time and guys like Kmart is getting rest for the playoffs. Management (Jackson) HAS A PULSE ON WHAT THE KNICKS ARE DOING DOWN THE STRETCH

Players were peaking late last year too until JR went bunkers in game 3 in Boston

Difference this year is they actually found a role for Amare and he is healthier. Woodson had no clue what to do with him last year and early this year

AMARE? woodson had no clue what to do with anyone other then felton, melo, and tyson.. Its a damn shame.

We played them in the 1st round two years ago and they stomped us in 5 games. In the 3 years that Lebron has been on that team they've gone 4-1, 4-1, and 4-0 in the 1st round. Their average margin of victory was 14 pts. Their margin of victory was only in the single digits 3 times, all against Philly. I don't think Miami's been napping the in 1st round.

In 2010-11 we went 7-2 down the stretch with the two losses coming after we had clinched a playoff spot and were resting players. We were swept in the 1st by Boston

In 2011-12 we went 18-6 after MDA was fired including 9-4 in April. We lost in 5 games in the 1st to Miami.

Last year we went 16-2 to end the season. We lost in 6 games in the 2nd to Indy.

I can say with great confidence Miami will crush us. However I honestly think we can beat Indy. I think what would be HUGE is if we could steal a win vs. Miami on Sunday, knock them down in the standings (where Indy also owns the conf tie breaker) catch the Pacers in the first round and bang.. next you know its Miami/NY in the conference finals. Thats my dream.

Aprospos to that, I was telling my wife a funny story. She saw Dick Bavetta and was like "that guy looks like he should be in hospice, not running up the down the court with NBA players. Hes older than Marv"

I told her about how in the 90s the Knicks were in a playoff dogfight with Miami. After a Knick win one of the Heat players was so pissed about the officiating he called the ref "Knick Bavetta" because he only makes calls for one team. The guy who said that was the father of the Knick's rookie that was playing so well. Funny stuff.

They've played garbage teams in the 1st rd. Knicks 2yrs ago were garbage starting g Turiaf and Amare at center. This knick team is not the same rollover type team Miami usually faces in the first round. I worry about Indy just flat out outcoaching us again. No matter what they will find a way to beat us. It's not going to be easy whoever it is

At no point in the Melo/Amare/tyson era have they all been playing at a high level entering (at the same damn time) the playoffs..

When I heard TYSONS remarks about the knicks being a dangerous playoff opponent, I laughed like really you dick, shut up and play ball.

But he actually maybe right, Amare/tyson/JR seems like there getting back on track, all we need is felton/shump/kmart to get back on track..we can be a problem to any opponent..

But please no more laker/suns let down
