There aren't that many options though- I guess we'd have to trade him west so he doesn't catch flu. Needs to be in a run and gun system, and will moan if not in a playoff team. So that leaves:

OKC- the most likely, I think
Spurs- no need for him
Rockets- nope, they have Dwight
Clips- nope, Jordan has really improved this season
Suns- maybe
Grizz- no need, Gasol
Twolves- no need, just spent money on the hulk
Dallas- don't think Cuban likes him after he left them, but they do actually need him.
Blazers- hmm, maybe but Lopez is doing okay for them
Warriors- no need unless they get rid of Bogut.

You think Portland gives up McCullom for him? That dude can ball in the triangle.

I personally would not give up a 1st round pick for Chandler if I were another club, let alone multiple picks. We'll see what happens..

Than Chandler plays his 1/3 game which he looks like an all star. Anyone think Utah could use Chandler? We have tough decisions to make.

He'll kick up a stink if he goes to a non playoff team

I think that his only real value comes from being the final piece to a puzzle ala the Mavericks in 2011. Anything less and you're stuck being the Bobcats of yore, paying him $12-$14 million per year.

in my opinion, only to contenders that are giving up bad contracts like Perkins and change for Tyson Chandler

There was no market for him last time when he did not yet have the flu, and he was younger. Don't think there will be a market for him this time around unless its at a very cheap price.

What do you see as Tyson's production? Picks 25 to 30 are usually deep bench players. Maybe 5 to 8 mpg players. Once you get to the middle of the 1st round, you're talking solid role players - somewhere between a 4th and a 6th man.

so what are you saying?

Hard to say. The Knicks said there were a lot of calls inquiring about Chandler at the trade deadline. Apparently now he is back on board with team goals and saying the Knicks will be a tough out. It probably means he is due for his annual strep throat infection/15lb weight loss over the next three weeks.

he defense is perdicated on pgs staying in front of their man

But why when our DPOY plays a guy heads up in the post he always needs a double team? Regardless of who the player is??

He did not leave dallas. Dallas chose not to resign him. Cuban ain't dumb and he is definitely not going after him now.

There are calls because he is going into the final year of that disgusting contract. So it would be a rental for a good team that overrates him.

Non-shooting bigs is a dying race. That is why Coach K had very little use for him. The game is changing.

Dallas actually offered him the max for one season, so as not to ruin their cap space plans- I think both sides got a bit salty about it. Mavs need a center badly, but I agree that ship has sailed.

yeah - the one year contract was a slap in the face. They were going all in for Dwight and maybe even Paul. They knew what chandler was/is.

The only other offer was GS who sucked then and nobody would be caught dead in golden state.

Then came the knicker****ers who of course phucked the whole thing up. Not only did they sign him by bidding against nobody but we amnestied our (so desperately needed (for so many reasons)) PG.

A worse move than even Amare IMHO because now/then we are/were stuck with both of them. UGH

How much high PnR and side PnR does the center do in the triangle offense? Will they tweak the offense to do what Chandler does best?

Funny thing is that I think that Chandler has a pretty good 15-20 foot set shot. Saw him take about 5 of them this year. Don't understand why he can't do more of that. Maybe he does not want to mess with his beautiful TS.

I'm watching the Blazers tonight and I'd definitely move Tyson Chandler for Portland's scraps: Thomas Robinson, CJ McCollum, Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland. Aside from Robinson, none of those guys are in Portland's rotation so I could see them readily parting with those guys. There would be some risk involved on our part but looking at Chandler this season, keeping him is every bit as risky. At least with what we'd be getting, at least one of those guys will turn into a productive player (I think Thomas Robinson is already every bit as good as Kenyon Martin in his prime).

That would work for me if Perkins is also an expiring next year. But not wrecking 2015 by being stuck with Perkins.

Perkins could be our new most hated player- imagine trying to root for a team with a front line of Perkins and Bargs!

Ha! Still, probably a necessary evil for some first round picks...

We could probably dump Perkins on the Mavericks during the offseason. They have a bunch of cap space and usually take fliers on much-maligned and overpaid big men (see Samuel Dalembert, Brendan Haywood, Erick Dampier, Tyson Chandler, etc.).

Is chandler even worth a first round pick?
