I was a huge Yankee fan..Use to go to the stadium with friends..Took my kid there a few years back and bought a hot dogs and sodas my friends, their kids and mine..Cost an absolute fortune...I felt I was paying for Arod's deal..I stop going to the stadium and cut back watching the Yankee/baseball in general ..It's small but there is a line...

Dude, that's the case for any sporting event. That's why you eat before you go or you smuggle **** in like any normal cheapskate.

I think you are missing the general point...It's not about the individual act as not buying food at the stadium per se, but when is enough, enough..So we are just going along to get along..Is there no point where u make a stand??

Why do you even care? Personally, I think that professional sports is a leech on society (tax payer money sponsoring private profit) and that it should be socialized to instead benefit the community they operate in. Still, I don't get why ads on jerseys would be the breaking point for you.

Why do I care???...Is this a real question??..Do u have any clue of what sports and the add on's is costing everything around you???..Do you know what ESPN and MSG for that matter means to your capable bill??

This is going to be a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black but why are you so goddamn pissy? Answer my question, so that maybe I could understand your point of view. I don't see how ad's on jerseys will lead to the destruction of America.

In layman's terms, I understand it's a business and my attachment to the game is of pure love for the sport...If you are going to remind me constantly that it's a business and you are milking it for as much money as you can then I won't support your effort doing so..

Again, I'm not the type that presumes that corporatist culture is something sacred. I already said that I thought professional sports should be socialized, which should've been a clue. Even so, I don't think that ads on jerseys are such a sinister thing especially when you juxtapose it to the NFL and NHL holding nonprofit status, public money going toward building stadiums, etc.

No it's shouldn't be socialized..Just don't use public money for stadiums, etc..

Either or I suppose. From a fan's perspective, I like the socialized aspect more because my money could go toward funding a hospital rather than James Dolan. I'd also like to think that the experience would cheaper.

I've already made a stand. I just don't go. Personally, I've had a better time staying at home and watching the game than going to the stadium/arena, listening to some jackass try to start chants.

This is one case where I side with the corporatists. A private enterprise should be allowed to charge what they want for non-essential services. Don't like it, then go to their competitor. If its too expense, then that shouldn't be their concern.

The problem with u you are advocating is the it's the choice of the city, state, or County to do so..For example, New Jersey gave the Giants huge tax incentive and an offer to help build the stadium if they moved there..The Giants accepted...NJ didn't have to do that..They reap taxes in return..

Where do u draw the line??..I read somewhere that a cable company is charging it's customers a "Dodgers tax" for the tv deal that station cut with the Dodgers..Something like $2.00 per month, across the entire country...You probably don't like the Dodgers or even watch baseball but you are paying the tax...

Not delighted by logos on unis, but, happens in other sports, so perhaps inevitable (just as the annyoing logos on outfield walls, hockey boards, etc).

Getting sponsor money does not in any way increase the cost to the customer - if anything, as it provides non-ticket/concession revenue, could argue it could lead to reduced ticket price increases in the future, so not sure why the outrcry financially.

What tax revenues did NJ reap in return? The NFL is classified as a nonprofit. The guise they use to swindle tax payer money is that it benefits local businesses and creates jobs. Excuse me for being condescending but I don't think the service industry, where people can make as little as $2.50/hr, is considered a job, let alone something that we should invest tens of millions of dollars on.

Sure it does, you are being reminded of the general greed in sports and they have zero qualms about putting it in your face..

Welcome to America, where our mantra is "greed is good". It didn't take ads on jerseys for me to realize that. I suppose that's why I still could care less what they put on them.

Have we all seen the trend, Socialize risk and privatize profits.
The good news is that stateless cryptographic money (e.g. Bitcoin) is starting to change the game. Taking power from corrupt States/Banks and putting it back in peoples hands.
No more just printing money and going to war.
And I love the idea of the public buying back companies to put the money back in everyone's hands and not just a select few. That, is criminal.

And you think it won't affect you ...This generate more revenue for teams and the NBA, the players want a bigger cut, so owners raise ticket prices and tv prices..ESPN now charges u $5/6 per month..So $10 per is still good??..They will be in your pockets and u won't even know it...As long as we consume, they will push the envelope...

Truth be told, I've been looking for an excuse to get rid of my cable package (HBO and AMC are the only thing keeping me around). I'm not trying to be a dick or difficult but if it seriously comes to that, you could cancel the thing as well and still survive. Pick up a few more books, take a cooking class, go the gym more frequently...you'll be alright. You might as well get prepared for that inevitably because with the Comcast-Time Warner monopoly, prices will likely skyrocket.

I'm kicking myself for not investing in Bitcoin when I had the chance but c'est la vie. Still, I question the structural integrity of the whole thing and wouldn't put serious money in it especially after the recent hacker incidents. Either way, there needs to be more done to corral corporate America, justice system and our politicians. Both are wholly corrupt.
