Probably the worst move the knicks have ever made.
I didn't mind the signing as long as we took the proper precautions. I still don't understand why Donnie didn't frontload Amare's contract. That would've helped to stagger the long term risk of signing a guy we knew was going to breakdown. And using the amnesty on Billups was stupid from the start; that should've been saved for Amar'e. Had Donnie Walsh not been such a puss and we just kept Corey Brewer, we could've involved his contract in a sign and trade that would've allowed us to get Tyson Chandler while keeping Billups and preserving our amnesty. That one, seemingly minor move, ****ed us during the Carmelo era.
He couldn't have front loaded. He got the max each year - Amare hit the lotto. There is always is that 1 idiot/sucker and guess who that was?
The Tyson/CB move was an utter disaster and the same phucking gamblers/starphuck mentality. Complete horse sh1t. We also outbid ourselves as usual for Tyson, there was really no market for him (at that price).
So we sign Amare (disaster), NBA gives us this amnesty gift to clean up exxon valdez, we use it on our most efficient player and so badly needed expiring PG and start the year by giving a PG coach Toney Phucking Douglass as our starter.
You can't make this sh1t up and what is even crazier is that fans actually defend this crap.
so here is what phil is thinking ....
