Jackson hasn't been shy about putting some distance between himself and this roster, with a few exceptions. Wants to make it clear that his job really doesn't begin until after the season is over. I can't say I blame him, who would want to vouch for this squad? They have done little if anything this season to deserve it.

Phil is distancing himself from this team because it is "theirs" and not "his". The man has an ego that obviously can barely fit between those suit-hangar shoulders. He's great and he knows it. And he knows you know it, as do millions more people and NBA talking heads, as well.

He's done nothing visible to earn that $60 million, yet. Except show up and talk.
