Thats true but the coach is not bringing those players to your team either.

Do you want Phil Jackson here in a non coaching capacity? It seems like you don't.

I would rather Phil tell a low profile coach what to do than a higher profile coach who wants to do things his own way.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

It's about Phil doing the job he was hired to do and getting a competent coach who the players can respect and play hard for..This isn't CYO basketball..Players have to have confidence in their coach..Do I really need to tell fellow Knick fans this...

Could be Phil adding Lue's name as a courtesy, keep his name in the conversation for another job opening. I hope his search isn't limited to his inner circle, that can backfire.

I want Phil here as much as anyone does..But I can't say I was too happy to hear that his triangle was "much maligned" in today's NBA during his introduction as Head of Basketball Operations...I hope he doesn't see this as his Petri dish to prove everyone wrong about his system...

Nobody knew Spolestra. And he got off to a rough start but did okay because Riley had faith in him.

Who would you like to see here?

Yes. That line was very interesting. I did not even know that it was maligned. Maybe coaches malign it since they don't run it or buy into it.

We don't have Bron, Wade, Bosh or Ray Allen, then later added Battier..We don't have those character type players...We have JR, Shump, Tyson when he shows up, gun toting Felton, lazy Bargs...etc..

Damn, we condemning dudes that are under consideration based on starphuch pasts? By that we now just want established names that are big time coachs and pay them big money too.........

Oh wait, thats been done.

Or, develop one or mentor one that has basis of experience to learn and grow from?

Or take a Former role player and mentor him?

HolFresh, there only:

Pop
Spolestra
Rivers
Carlisle

Thats not a long list to pick from. I only consider Pop to be elite.

Carlisle was fired too!!! Rivers in orlando was not without its moments. The good ones learn.

Spolestra great or was "mentored"? What do some of the best coach's have in common? They usually came from a strong mentorship. Pop from Larry Brown, Spolestra from Riles, Jackson from Holzman, Donovan from Pitino.....the list goes on.

There is no sure thing but lets give this some time before we see how it pans out.

There will be bumps along the way too! Lets use some imagination!

We don't and I hope that Phil can build a team for us.

Spolestra is still a good coach having those guys playing the right way. Lebron really clashed with him initially and he stood his ground. Lebron has also evolved under him and Riley to a much better player then he was before he got there.

Its not easy to win it all no matter how good your team is.

He's won 11 championships when his only living competition won 4. If anyone can do it, it would be Phil.

Well Jordan, Pippen, Grant, Rodman, Shaq, Kobe and big shot Bob ain't walking through MSG doors..

He'll know how to stop Iverson- or at least Jarrett Jack!
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

They certainly are not walking in here with someone else as our leader. Thats how riley got lebron, flashing brass.

People also forget that outside of a horrible hugh hollins call, the bulls probably win it all without Jordan.

Phil deserves credit for winning as much as he did no matter who was on his "teams".

It helped that Wade backed Spo.

To be fair, Rambis' GM was David Kahn. Do I need to say more? And Bill Cartwright had a cast of young players that were not much better than your run-of-the-mill role player. Jackson's guys have never really been given a star player that they could build the system around.

Maligned because Phil's guys have not gotten coaching jobs like Riley and JVG guys. No organization is interested in the triangle unless Phil is running it with his zen a ability to manage mega stars

Phil is a New York knick again. Believe me, he will be in the thick of things. Hopefully we finally see success after 40+ years
Or we can just bring isiah back if it makes everyone happy

Now Tyronn Lue on the radar as coach???...great..
