Wonder if we get a young player in with that last roster spot. I thought Earl played okay for us, but in the recent afternoon game I noticed he looked half asleep during the game, and kept yawning on the bench, so maybe it's an effort thing.

Regardless, Earl Clark was a perfect compliment to Melo. He deserved a closer look.

who knows, maybe carmelo isn't in the long term plans either... maybe we should be hoping that earl clark was the perfect compliment to the "knicks"

I think Phil would like to re-sign Melo, but wouldn't be devastated if he couldn't- I think he's fine with it either way.

Touche. I can't knock that point. IMO, as a huge Melo fan, I think it'd be in this team's best interest to trade him and get Kevin Love to be our new 4 in 2015.

Have we signed anyone else since letting Earl Clark go? I haven't heard anything.

I haven't even heard a rumor of as much. It makes the move, all the more, perplexing because Clark might've been able to be used in a sign and trade for us at the very least ala Dan Gadzuric (and co.) for Felton and Quentin Richardson (and co.) for Bargnani.

I would be down to give Bobby Brown a 10 day contract. I want to see if his scoring will translate to the NBA level.

I don't think he'd be eligible for the playoffs though.

He would be. Only free agents that have already played on another NBA team are ineligible for the playoffs.

They definitely should bring in Brown. Also, I am pretty sure Torre may not even become a rotation player. It doesn't hurt to keep him around for the rest of the season but I don't know if he should be part of any long term plans.

I agree with you on Murry. I liked him at the start of the year, but his inability to handle defensive pressure is a huge turnoff.

I'm not ready to write him off yet. The ability to dribble through pressure is something can be developed through reps and experience. I've seen guys like Lin and Nash improve in that area.

No idea what he's done in China but in the NBA, where he hasn't played in 4 years, he couldn't shoot from 3.

Agreed. I would've kept him and tried to get him some game time. Thought he fit the team much better than Shannon Brown myself. Oh we'll, guess Phil didn't care for him... I'd now fill the open spot with Devin Ebanks. Just suspended from the Springfield Armor for violating the league drug policy. Provided this is something minor which I suspect, I'd sign this guy for the rest of the season when he comes off suspension. Similar player to Earl Clark; I actually think Ebanks is an even better player. Dude goes about 6'9" 220, defends pretty well, rebounds and he's a real gifted scorer either spotting up from anywhere including 3-pt territory or putting it on floor. I really like this guy's game a lot -- actually reminds me of Kevin Durant. Similar game, kind of a Kevin Durant-lite. I'd take the chance here.

I agree with you completely. I've had my eye on Ebanks, ever since his last season with the Lakers. He's made a lot of improvements with his jump shot. Even though he's a good defender though, I'm skeptical of his abilities to guard 3's, as well as 4's. I think that quality is what made Earl Clark so intriguing.

He put up big numbers in china. I think he had a 74 point game this year. The rumor was the
Clippers wanted him but I haven't heard anything recently. He has been the best player in China for a couple of years and they have a lot of ex nba players over there.
