he doesn't need the money
he doesn't need another ring
he doesn't need to close his career out where he started
so his motivation if there is any is an unknown. my guess is that it's a knicks cry for help since they are irrelevant again, laughingstocks.
one thing is certain is that dolan will never be allowed to do anything more than write checks.
another thing is certain is that there will be no more gag orders on speaking with the press.
and if jackson does agree to get hired he will be making more money than any player especially carmelo anthony. this most likely means that anthony will take a big big cut in pay, down to the 12-13 million dollar range-- which coincidentally is about what his actual value is to a team... as i have taken pains to explain.
the sacrifice financially for anthony is just and right and of course necessary, be it to make room for a better player than himself or in this case a better basketball person than himself.
ironic that if he agrees to this financial sacrifice it will mean that he will be the head of a triangle offense which will be no sacrifice on the floor for him.
yet the 64 dollar question is: is he too dumb to learn the triangle? will his awful decision-making be a hindrance? i don't think he is smart enough to succeed but i would like to be proven wrong.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
