He seems much more engaged when he is on the court. Interesting that it came after he was criticized on national tv by hubie and bill Simmons.

That's a fair criticism. On a contending team, I think he'd always be motivated. On a .350 team, he sometimes acts like he feels (or realizes) the games are pointless.

I don't buy that excuse of being on a bad team so why put forth effort. There was enough time in the year when he came back that the Knicks didn't have to be a .350 team if he was more motivated. How about concentrating at the free throw line and stop throwing tantrums.

Also, if anyone have seen Love's comments on what Tyson said I doubt that you would think they are friends. Maybe he was kidding around when he said it but to read the quotes, they do not have a friendly tone.

Eh, it's not that important. He wasn't playing like a star but he was still putting up a good number of points and rebounds and the team was playing better with him on than off the court.

His effort is very important. He isn't that skilled. He is a guy that gets paid a ton to play d and rebound. Did you see him fire up his hideous jumpshot relatively early in the shot clock during the first half? When your effort guy/vet with the championship pedigree, and supposed locker room leader behaves the way Tyson has this year on and off the court it is going to play a part in sabotaging the team. When that guy is best buds with the gm and is in his ear everyday it is even worse. Hope he continues to play strong for the rest of the season and the knicks get more value for him in the offseason

People love to nitpick at him simply because he doesn't have flashy moves on offense and doesn't play like a guy who's had 4 energy drinks on defense. Even in those "lazy" games, he was usually getting a rebound or a point (usually both) every 3 min. Most people here nitpick with Tyson more than with our two actual max contract players.

I just watch the games and know what I saw when he was dogging it. Again, he has looked better but it was after being criticized and called out for dogging it twice on national tv broadcasts.

Exactly right. I am a stats guy and he certainly is efficient but he just looked like he played this year with a really bad attitude.

He also has the worst hands I have ever seen.

so here is what phil is thinking ....
