Knicks could've had a guy like Augustine but wanted a slow flat footed Beno to run along speedsters like Pablo and Felton

Because let's face it. Melo ball(dribble, drop ball in melo's hands) is only successful in the half court

Someone on UK needs to man up and own an earlier statement of theirs they made about him!

"Someone"? Is that me? Most of us probably forgot whatever we said about him by now.

but you don't forget when someone picks more wins than you do?

Is it really so astonishing that we remember our Knicks' discussions here better than discussions of DJ Augustin?! You're just looking for a reason to complain

Kirk Hnrich is much better than any pg we have on our roster. Not sure why he continues to be so underrated to the point that people claim the Bulls do not have a pg in thread titles....

Bonn - it wasn't you - I'm pretty sure you thought we should add him.

I (hopefully) remember what my opinion was within the last 3 months and remember that there were guys (but not the whose) that didn't want him.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I wanted him too. He's playing better now but his career #s were definitely better than anything we were getting at PG.

It's a mute point because he would play like garbage here under Woodson in the half court. We are a jumpshooting half court team. We don't need to see DJ shooting nothing but jumpers

Their PGs are better then ours and they play with heart and hustle! As well as play honest defense they hardly ever switch making each man responsible for their man.. Unlike our stragity lol Woodson needs to go our players are just lost and confused on defense... How about melo defending no one up top while his man got the ball for the easy dunk... And everyone looked around in confusion.. That's the coaches fault if your roster dosent get your defensive philosophy you need to adapt to your teams ability... Like tibs dose with the bulls ... I pry we get tibs in the off season

DJ Augustine, Nate Robinson, John Lucas, Hinrich, and CJ Watson all played well since Rose's injury..

Right now, he's hitting 42% of his 3s (and 90% of his FTs). You're crazy if you don't think that would help.

Yeah, I think they have 3 healthy guards playing better than anyone we have. Not saying they're stars but they're better than what we have.

Bonn - I do think he's right - this is so toxic here that small fixes around the margins are not going to impact the bigger picture.

But, he would have been an upgrade nonetheless.

The Knicks are an amalgamation of wrong decisions. It is obvious that you don't have a decade of losing culture by it being one persons fault. Melo is at fault for not waiting to sign as a FA. The front office is at fault for making wrong decisions after wrong decisions. Dolan is a major source of these problems. With all of these wrong decisions we find ourselves with a mentally weak, injury prone, low IQ, lazy, selfish and just generally poorly constructed team. WIth all these negatives it is still obvious to me that this team still a playoff team. With all these issues, there is no doubt in my mind this is still a playoff team, especially with the historically bad eastern conference this year. So you ask why the bulls after all their injuries are still a good team. You ask why no matter who you add through free agents they are able to contribute. You ask why we are the exact opposite in those regards. The answer lies in the person who is pretending to be a coach Mike Woodson.

Woodson has been a bad coach since the playoffs after he took over for MDA. I agree that Lin's, Barons and Shumps injuries hurt the team that playoff series. I agree with the assumption that there was no way that we were going to beat the heat with that team. The problem I had with that series was the obvious coaching mistakes he was continually committing. Woodson is commiting THE SAME EXACT MISTAKES now. I am not going to go into all of those mistakes because we have seen many posters voice them this season. People ignored those mistakes because of the injuries. I can understand injuries but the mistakes he was making were not due to injuries but his own bad coaching. You can tell the difference between a well coached bad team and a poorly coached bad team.

Woodson does not even have an offensive system. He just took whatever he learned from that partial season he had coaching as an assistant under MDA. This is why since he has been the coach our team does not use any curls, dive cuts, backdoor cuts or any off ball movement. The only thing he could understand from MDA was pick and rolls. We have a bootleg seven seconds or less system without the fastbreaks!

Woodson has a defensive system but it is the worst system I have ever seen. You double the post 75% of the time. It does not matter if the team has good 3pt shooters or if the doubled post player can not score. I mean we have doubled Bismack Biyombo in the post multple times for Christ sake. The player doubling will almost always be one pass away. We switch on picks no matter what. You say the ball handler is not looking to score? So what switch! You say its a PG/C pick and switching will give us 2 bad mismatches? So what switch! Like someone pointed out in one of the recent game threads, the only time we don't switch is when it takes away a mismatch.

Our team management sucks, our players suck but through all that we are no doubt a playoff team in this years eastern conference. While all of the blame for why we are bad is not on Woodsons shoulders he is one of the bigger reasons for why we will miss the playoffs this season.

when I made that thread a few months ago about Free agents, I said there were some guys that this team could have had for very, very cheap, and were young. DJ augustine was one and BJ Mullens.. I also said we could left guys like artest , prigs and beno alone and made a guy like collison a priority.... Instead we are trying to trade for him at the deadline.. and it didn't work...

DJ augustine I said would bring another dimension to our team... this team is so predictable and bland, DJ has speed and can for the most part score the ball.. felton is too erratic and pablo seems scared to shoot.. we could have used him...

Going from worst PG to average starter is a gigantic upgrade. I think we'd be playing like an 8th seed right now with Augustin

I stand corrected at those shooting numbers he would help us. But like Franco said it's too toxic here. No way he shoots anything close to that in New York. The ball movement on this team sucks

One word: NOAH!

The kid is very underrated. His stat line is rebounds, blocks, and more so now assists.

He also is the back stop when the perimeter is violated.

He is top 5 MVP candidate.

And just a reminder for those that can't remember. Noah was with our pick and we LIKED the guy...

Was that the number 1 or 2 overall pick?

i did not like what i saw of him coming off the bench for the pacers last year. if we are lamenting not picking him up i would agree only because we need to start somewhere. yes he's better than felton. but he is not a starting point guard on a contender. for one thing his defense is very suspect.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Because the OWNER and the coach of the Bulls believes in winning and are use to it.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
