Right, because the last 15 years in front couldn't last forever. Good gravy.

Riiiiiight, and we all know only true fans watch their team when they are in front. Because watching them when they are at the bottom is... ummmm....

So, are you a Knicks fan, or a commmericial sponsor? It's okay, being connected to a loser may have deleterious effects on your self-esteem.

Nice point.

I don't care if the Knicks aren't an elite team, if that was the only metric, I would have given up on them ages ago. The only thing the Knicks are having an affect on is my ability to stay awake. Dolan is doing his level best to make sure it stays that way.

Dolan is a rich fat little troll who probably never played the game even in gym class. Granted, over and over a billion times.

But doesn't announcing "I'm not going to watch the team!!!" just slightly akin to holding your breath and stamping your feet?
Be frustrated and upset with the losing, the lack of direction, Melo's free agency, Woody's sucktitude, etc, but jumping off the wagon is still...jumping off the wagon, right?

We lived through IT and Marbles and Anoucha and Eddy Curry.

We will get through this. Courage, men.

Its nothing to do with losing- more to do with the lack of effort and the same stupid **** over and over again from players, coach, management and owner. I honestly have better things to do with my life that watch a bunch of clowns not bring any effort. Everyone's got to have a line- blind loyalty isn't healthy

I really love these threads they come up every year. It only highlights who the real fans are and who the front runners are. Please save this post for future discussions. I want to remember these clowns who call themselves knick fans. Can the real fans stand up. If you are not going to watch the knicks and not a fan anymore please leave. No need for the extra convo. Losing is like a filtration system for fake fans.

Fake fans are going to take the time to register to post in a Knicks forum? And for some fans they registered over a decade ago? lol

i used to think this way. not anymore. what does staying loyal to a team when they suck really prove now? ima sucker? glutton for punishment? i still follow them when they stink, however cliched, life has shown me that this stuff isnt that critical. its entertainment. for ME, when teams suck, it isnt entertaining. so my attention level just dips. if that isnt good enough for "real fans", o well...

to me, folks are venting. let em vent. like it hurts anyone else if they say stuff like the are done, wont watch, etc. its their choice to post that on a free message board.

Fake fan? It's a fake team. "Front runner"... it's not like people are doing DJs. They are just registering their disgust, and discussing it to people who actually care. Because in the real world or Twitterverse, they are just a punchline.

If you're not a fake fan then my comments doesn't need a reply. Also fake might be the wrong word. Just tired of all the crying....Need to see some action already. Otherwise this is going to be the same movie for years until ownership changes.

I hear ya. Last year when I went to the gym here in NJ there was Knicks apparel everywhere. This year not 1. Those are the same people who wore nets apparel during a the years of Knicks sucktitude

It's going to get even uglier since he Nyets are now in Brooklyn

I agree 100 percent. It's also my choice to say suck it up. I'm an action person. I rather see the threads about action towards the owner..gm..coach...whatever. otherwise stop crying. We sucked since Ewing left. My tears dried up 10 yrs ago.

if anything, this ***could*** be a sign of probs for msg/knicks. much easier to hold folks attention 20 years ago with no internet/1000s of channels on the toob, sat radio, tablets/smart phones, etc... too much to keep folks busy to spend time on crap products. consumer is gonna make a choice at some point. msg might be full maybe, however it wont be fans, it will be folks just out to do something... anything... maybe for the execs, thats enough, and most likely is.

I'm going to watch these games. I want to see who still has that fight in him. I'm so used to the knicks being bad.. it wouldn't be normal if they were any good. But I'm also excited because with every loss, we get closer to cleaning house. So I have plenty of reasons to watch. But I am glad I didn't spend money on league pass. They are not worth it. Watching on the computer will do just fine. Even my boys turned on me. Both are heat fans now and love LBJ. But that's expected from a 4 and 8 yr old.

knicks are not only bad they are boring, meaning they are not even entertaining.

who could blame people for not tuning in? i think someone cited an article saying viewership has dropped 30%

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Nothing left to evaluate. They wont play Tyler big minutes to see what he can do and the other guys its the same song and dance all year. After 15 years I won't support watching the last 20 games or so in the best interests of my team. We have small voices--so my hope is the ratings plummet and we already saw MSG at what looked like half-capacity the other night. Honestly if the Knicks management cant give me abetter product over 15 years--than its time to simply watch college basketball a tad more. Those guys want it.

Funny, because I don't even get the constant harping about changing the ownership. I mean sure, it's the fundamental problem, but unless you are organizing non-stop "Dolan sucks" chants that are impossible to ignore or drown out, what can a fan do about that? At least the coach discussion is related to basketball. But talking about corporate owners? At least just tuning out you are actually doing something real.

Agree....I find myself watching more college ball than nba ball. Maybe it's just me....but the knicks are like that soap opera series. You are always waiting to see or read about the next curve ball. Who going to crack first. The knicks are like a boiling tea pot waiting to explode. I'm not questioning your loyalty or any real fan loyalty to the team. It's the Fairweather lin / knick fans that will use your thread as a way out. To them i say just leave already. I talk to these clowns all the time and it pisses me off. They expect me to follow them and jump off the Wagon. These fake fans actually makes me jump back on the wagon. After saying all that...I'm sure you will still watch more knick games. The Knicks are like that addictive drug u can't put down. We all need rehab.

The ratings drop is a great thing. It is the only type of thing a cable company would really respond to. But we all know they would probably just see it as evidence for a starphuch.

I watched the game on Sunday from tip off until final buzzer. Not because it was going to be a good game. Because it was on ABC and probably one of the only times I'll get to see them on my TV for the rest of the season. To think the David Lee era Knicks would hardly ever make a national TV game because of lack of star power, and now we are back on the national stage stinking it up.

Im 45 years old. The only time the Knicks really scked before Dolan was when Bernard King got hurt and we drafted Patrick Ewing the year after back in the mid 80's. Atleast we could root for a loss a few years back to get a higher pick.

There is not one player I feel connected to to root for this team--maybe THJ but that is it. When we had those 3 bad year--there was hope in many ways--and that proved to be a great period--stinking for 3 and good for 15. Weve been terrible for 15 accept 1 and there is little hope to this team--another lottery pick given away--its disgusting management. The only reason why MSG has been successful is its location the Rangers and especially the Knicks have been terrible since Dolan has been here--financial success has had nothing to do with on court success--its simply flew with the tide of sport corporations becoming more valuable. Can u imagine Dolan as an owner in Oklahoma--they have an empty arena watching Samuel Dalembart and Antwan Jamison.

This is why most nba fans left. And are now big college fans. Money is the root of all evil. And people will pay money to see melo vs David Lee regardless of the record. This is why we stink. Dolans top priority is revenue and filling the seats in msg. David Lee will help you win games...but not bring in fans like Melo will. This also shows you that Dolan is ready to give melo max money because he will makeup for that investment through revenue sales. He will over pay players all day to keep his value up. Let's just hope Mills earns his pay by directing how dolan should spend his money. Let dolan starphuck as long as the stars are aligned. Melo...amari....chandler don't work. Time for a do over. Hit the reset button and try it again.

LMAO....watching First Take for the first time in a while due to the snow storm. I don't know why yall hate Steven A smith, but he's been on point about the knicks since I've been watching him. And they are ripping Dolan in the worst way. I love it.

I have to agree with the sentiment here. It is just not worth it to emotionally invest in a team that is run by inept management.
Yeah, if by some chance of luck and more likely, Divine Intervention, that this time (IN SPITE of Dolan) is able to field a winner, I'll watch.
But I'm not going to root for an owner who rips his fans hearts out and NEVER listens to their desires.

He could have given us a teeny bit of hope bringing in Fredette, just being the guy is a New Yorker, can shoot great, tries on defense and WANTS to play here. (That last one is getting rare.)
Remember years back when Patrick Ewing Jr. was just loved by fans, played a great game (that last game he got some time) and was just dust in the wind after that. AND yet there is a place for Chris Smith?
The fans voiced their opinions with Lin. They called in to express that and we are rewarded with Felton (who I did want as a 2nd or 3rd backup.) And lets not forget the Geriatric bunch.
It just seems like we are not listened to and so much of the game is the fans.
We are constantly getting smacked.

I would rather just watch college guys play. Hopefully they get paid and are not abused. Maybe an NBADL team would be great and give us chance as we could spend money on scouting to fill that team...

If Spike Lee still goes to the games and haven't given tickets away to friends or family then I will still watch.

No seriously I watch now to see what Woody and Melo do and how they react to guys giving half effort.

The players know what's going on behind the scenes in practice, Metta knows and so does Beno.

Somebody has to get the scoop from Metta World Peace brother ,or friend of his to find out the inside information.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
Enjoy the knicks game
