Value wise the knicks and lakers are the bell weather franchise's. Both with bad records. League is doing fine without them.

Mills from a corp structure standpoint is an upgrade from Grunwald. I know that seems funny, but look up his resume and he was heading into the league office as a well thought of executive. What most of us want is a a "backetball culture guy", a Donnie type who talks and breaths basketball. They maybe Mark Winkey dink and Hughes, but you not going to hear them talk. I'd like an extrovert GM type who can be more transparent to what we are doing.

Do you know what sells tickets? Telling people what they want to hear.

Briggs, I think that when we as Knick fans wear that distinction we basically have to accept the fact things are what they and unless your a season ticket holder you don't have a voice. Writers will continue to slam the decisions made by them.

Things with the knicks just don't add up. We trade no. 1 picks with no protection for players that don't advance our record to justify those trades. Eddy, and now Melo. Last year it added up.

Curry was Isiah and Dolan having some sort of misguided faith in him (at least that's what I believe). Melo is bringing in money for Dolan which is all Dolan really cares about at the end of the day.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Hey Ron Ron why don't you just buy the team or just shut the hell up.Oh you don't have the money Ain't nothing you can do or I can do to change this. I have my opinion about things and so do you. So if you ain't got a pot to piss and all you can do is complain. You and your hate crew have no power but the power of complaint. Why don't you set up a meeting with Dolan. But no you can't, all you can do is sit on your azz all day is complain and no one hears you. They don't even know you are alive. Your opinion means nothing and so does mine. But I choose to stick with the knicks why don't you leave and put yourself out of you misery. I hate whats going on right now with my team but I won't abandon them. That what diehards do. I say fire Woodson and get rid of 80% on the players but we can't.

Hey PapaBear, stop talking like a 6year old, and you go learn ABC's all over again

One of the biggest criticisms of Mills is that he has never run a team on a daily basis. He has never run a draft, or completed a trade but he is credited as being the guy behind the McDyess trade. Grunwald is very respected among his peers and with agents. Mills allegedly was hired because he has more 'cachet'. Not a lot of substance to that in my opinion. If he operates as president and hires a qualified gm and stays out of the way maybe that is a good move. Mills is supposed to be more into the analytics then Grunwald but Grunwald's peers have said that he was up analytics so this appears to not be accurate. Also, there was an impression given that Mills was going to be a more media friendly gm and the Knicks in general would be more transparent. The trade deadline was not successful. Not sure where you see the upgrade. Also, I don't have a problem with a Knicks gm that doesn't reveal his plan. We had that. The knicks let everyone know their plan to clear cap and who they were going to draft. However a competent person would be nice. No upgrade keeps Chris when your back up bigs are KMart and Stat.

I get you and don't disagree. My view is to look for evidence of a shift in thinking which is not evident now.

Grunwald is a "basketball guy" and look at were we are! I think the reason is Dolan had created a chaotic management team that has basketball guys (Winkydink, Hughes and Gabriel) but has neutered them. Grunwald was here by default from the Isiah days and Woodson was bought in to be the "defensive guy" for MDA. Remember that? Funny how things change. Now our Defense sucks!!! The Indiana Mafia days are coming to an end.

I believe Mills is not the basketball guy nor will be. If it appears so, then its a team approach and he is the mouth piece.

Just a take, we really don't know. Changes are a'coming.

When ever someone posts about the same thing everyday I do not call that a contribution to the forum. To me he has on agenda just like he tried to do on other forums. We know those who got kicked off other forum because of the way they post.
Now for me I am very pissed off about the Knicks but there is nothing I can do about it. I am a Knicks diehard fan. Try going through 40 year with no ring. I however see other things in the NBA that is wrong. First of all we never get calls. I remember the Charles Smith foul that was never called that cost us a championship run. I see Melo getting wacked and hacked and no calls. The NBA draft system sucks. We have too many team in the NBA and it waters down talent. Yes the Knicks management suck and I hope it changes. Just look at the teams that never won a championship but they have fans that support them every game. I support the knicks every game they play. You win some and you loose some. Just like the music business I had some hits and I had some misses. But the hits out number the misses. Thats why I'm still getting paid big time. With that let me say the Knicks are loosing real bad now but they are the most valued dollar wise basketball team in the world. Thats why we need to get rid of the draft It will stop teams from tanking and great players will come to New York. The NBA is designed to hold us down. We should be able to get rid of that cap. What do I care if a city can't afford to pay top dollar for a player. Just let that city be a farm team. I thought the American way was money talks and BS walks.

Keep this up and investors will surely SHORT the stock, because no one is paying tickets for a team that stinks this bad and made no improvements/attempts to go either direction
So as an investor they should only worry when they lose $$$ or when try to prevent it from happening?

Nalod, Steve Mills is listed as both GM and President of Operations or w/e
But the reason why Masai Ujiri was able to rape us in Denver and Toronto was because he knew he was dealing with Dolan

ALL TEAM's want to rape us on every trade, not sure is it because they know they can, or if Dolan pissed all of them off in the past
Only way to stop this is if Dolan steps out of the picture, and we start building up assets again
If not, we will continue to pay $1.50 for 3 quarters, exactly how our roster plays....
After we collect assets and maintain cap flexibility, we regain leverage, and must keep it this time

Look at how The Laker's do not give in, they run their business totally different from ours, they were able to rebuild and compete/win a couple times with different rosters while we got have done nothing since 1999

I have made many posts with Melo in the future and without
My point was the do SOMETHING

like I said in my other post, we either continue the starphuq and get younger/more athletic/ and quicker/faster
Looking at what Philly traded Turner/Hawes for, and they have said they wanted to get rid of Thad Young at the right price

well, we could have made some moves prior to deadline, Melo has already said he will OPT out, and he needs to see improvement in order to stay in NYK

1st round picks
2018, 2020, 2022

2nd round picks
2018, 2019, 2020

Possibly using Iman to get OKC's pick as an future asset, as well as rumored

Well, we could have continued the starphuq and resign Melo
Us doing NOTHING, will force Melo to leave with no compensation

If you are not going to make changes, then they should have traded Melo for assets while they could have while preserving cap space for 2015

You label me the same as TFK and DK, when I am not, I do agree with them that Melo has many flaws, is selfish, is a Diva, lacks leadership, and has inabilities
He is a scorer but in Woodson's system Rudy Gay would flourish if he was in Melo's shoes, a lot of it is FAKE/MISLEADING STAT's

Melo uses STATs to justify his value in the league for leverage on his contracts and status
However, I wouldn't say it is impossible to build a team with him, I do agree that you cannot build a team AROUND just HIM though

The writers for the knicks are weak. They should demand knick management talk to them freely. One interview that was monitored all year. Knicks beat writers need to get very nasty on Dolan for the fans. They are our only voice. So I say to them step up and get mad dog mean on him the last 20

With that same theory, Egyptians, Romans, Aztecs, all those dynasties in China, and many of those ancient civilizations would not have fallen
I am not saying they will fall tomorrow, however it is likely going to fall very soon because NO ONE is going to pay their ticket prices for their team next year, and the next 5-10years, so much for a BILLION in renovation

His wealth and success was handed to him, he is not a smart business man like Mark Cuban/Paul Allen
Most importantly, he doesn't learn from his past mistakes and refuses to listen from the people
He has the "I WILL BUY YOU OUT" mentality...

Why is BKLYN spending so much money, trading for players, that are not worth their amount with 3x the luxury tax?
Because they are fighting for their future, the future fan base of NYK, while we will decline for the next 10 years just like we did from 2000-2010
However, this time the Net's are not in Jersey

Some here may stay loyal fans, but what about the younger generation, the next generation, the generation after?
Ticket sales have risen 100% + since Melo got here, well now that we suck, and Melo will leave for NOTHING (WHILE WE ARE JUST STARTING TO PAY FOR HIS TRADE and not to mention all the other trades we have made after)
Melo walks and leaves for nothing, as he gets his guaranteed year of $$$, so he can opt out of it, and learn off his mistake

Mikhail Prokhorov, understands what he is fighting for, it is NOT for one season, but for the future that he will make up for while he claims a bigger portion of NY fans when we will suck at our rate/past history/ and with Dolan being Dolan...

I want an investigation done. I think previous management has been dealing unprotected picks with side deals. There had to be a side I can't imagine a team making these kind of deal on such a regular basis without protection. Something really stinks here.

Who demands of Dolan? Fans? Revenue? League?

Value wise the knicks and lakers are the bell weather franchise's. Both with bad records. League is doing fine without them.

League has been growing nicely over the last 30 years. MOst of them without Knicks being good.

You seem to not understand that Dolan run's MSG, not just the Knicks. While I think he is an incompetant boss for the Knicks. His overall business has been performing. No reason to believe he will be replaced for incompetance.

Most importantly, he doesn't learn from his past mistakes and refuses to listen from the people

you're right that as the years pass there will be fewer and fewer new fans brought in. you can only expect so much from even the most gullible. you don't go to watch the washington generals you go to watch the globetrotters.

the knicks brand may still be a revenue stream of some sort but the people who got to watch good basketball rather than merely be entertained are just not going to go to the garden or even watch television or internet. the knicks are not merely bad but they are boring.

last night the espn pregame show asked a rhetorical question of who would want to come to new york? the answer is that not many players or management will want to come here. it's one thing to be in nyc and quite another to be in the msg gulag.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%
Where is Dolan to explain what is going on
