Doing the inevitable might take the heat off a bit as a knowledgeable fan base is sure to react to his mishandling of the trade deadline and blowing the clips deal.

Or it gets Mills a raise. Wouldn't surprise me.

With Melo in limbo, perhaps best to keep options open.

this season is lost. Collison is not that good BTW!

We could of had him for nothing in the offseason.

I don't know which 2nd round picks Clippers actually offered, cause they own Philly's 2nd round pick which likely won't be conveyed as many picks are protected now days, except when NYK's trades them

Philly's 2nd rounder is protected 30-50 and 55-60
Along with a few other tricks

We should have protected this with top 8-10 protected to Anthony

Collison likely would be a stoppage PG, as he likely will opt out of his contract
Barnes would be the best SF we would have by far in our lineup
His salary is
This year $3,250,000
Next year $3,396,250
2015/16 $3,542,500 (team option, not sure if anything is partial guaranteed though, it would be lower than Felton's salary)

Clips Incoming Picks
===========================

2014 second round draft pick from Philadelphia
Philadelphia's 2014 2nd round pick to the L.A. Clippers protected for selections 31-40 and 46-60 (if this pick falls within either of its protected ranges and is therefore not conveyed, then Philadelphia's obligation to the L.A. Clippers will be extinguished) [L.A. Clippers-Philadelphia, 2/20/2014]

2016 second round draft pick from Brooklyn
L.A. Clippers have the right to swap their 2016 2nd round pick protected for selections 56-60 for Brooklyn's 2016 2nd round pick (if the L.A. Clippers’ pick falls within its protected range, then the L.A. Clippers’ swap right and Brooklyn’s obligation to the L.A. Clippers will be extinguished) [Brooklyn-L.A. Clippers, 7/11/2012]; L.A. Clippers may convey their 2016 2nd round pick and the above swap right to Milwaukee (see L.A. Clippers Debits)

Clips OUTgoing picks
========================

2014 second round draft pick to San Antonio
L.A. Clippers' 2014 2nd round pick to San Antonio (via New Orleans) protected for selections 31-55 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then the L.A. Clippers' obligation to San Antonio will be extinguished) [L.A. Clippers-New Orleans, 1/26/2010 and then New Orleans-San Antonio, 10/18/2010]

2015 first round draft pick to Boston
L.A. Clippers' 2015 1st round pick to Boston [Boston-L.A. Clippers, 6/25/2013]

2015 second round draft pick to Houston
L.A. Clippers' 2015 2nd round pick to Houston (via Toronto) protected for selections 31-50 and 56-60 (if this pick falls within either of its protected ranges and is therefore not conveyed, then the L.A. Clippers' obligation to Houston will be extinguished) [L.A. Clippers-Toronto, 1/7/2009 and then Houston-Toronto, 7/28/2010]

2015 second round draft pick to Denver
L.A. Clippers' 2015 2nd round pick to Denver protected for selections 31-55 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then the L.A. Clippers' obligation to Denver will be extinguished) [Denver-L.A. Clippers, 1/5/2009]

2015 second round draft pick to Milwaukee
L.A. Clippers' 2nd round pick to Milwaukee protected for selections 51-60 in 2015 or 56-60 in 2016 (subject to the below swap right) or unprotected in 2017; if not settled in 2015 and if the L.A. Clippers' 2016 2nd round pick does not fall within its protected range, then Milwaukee will receive the more favorable of the L.A. Clippers' 2016 2nd round pick and Brooklyn's 2016 2nd round pick and Brooklyn will receive the less favorable of these two picks (via Milwaukee's right to swap L.A. Clippers for Brooklyn) [Brooklyn-L.A. Clippers, 7/11/2012 and then L.A. Clippers-Milwaukee-Phoenix, 7/10/2013]

2016 second round draft pick to New Orleans

As our future yoots in this years draft, I totally agree with Briggs that we should target both
With OKC's late 1st rounder, we should be able to grab one of these players, and hopefully buy a 2nd rounder with the 3m in cash for another 2nd rounder
I would try to add Tyson Chandler in to grab both of their 1st round picks including, either Nick Collison, Perry Jones, or Reggie Jackson
If we can get rid of Felton's contract and do the above, it would be a no brainer

While taking back Perkins contract and repackaging him out to Philly with future (Knick's) 2018 pick, 2018 2nd rounder for Thad Young
We need to get young, quicker, more athletic, along with more talent to surround Melo with

Deonte Burton
6-1
190
PG
Nevada

and

Jordan Bachynski
7-2
248
C
Arizona St.
Sr.

You guys are totally overlooking how loyal Mills is- don't lose sight of what's most important.

Let's be honest, we know he's going to be GM for at least 4 or 5 years. Our only hope is if we hire a big coach who demands some control over the roster.

He did but backing up Paul is better than backing up Felton. Also, with a trade to Ny he would be starting something he couldn't do if he opted out

When you say this, it makes you wonder about the validity of a trade. Beno and World Peace were held out of the game because they were being waived. It would have made sense to hold out Shumpert as well.

exactly, which leads me to believe that these talks were not that serious.

if he is an advanced advocate then he should be trying to ****can carmelo anthony ASAP
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

You might be onto something. If he tried to get rid of Melo then Dolan would certainly fire him.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.
