We keep changing coaches and what happens?
If you're still defending Woodson I don't know what could possibly convince you to lose faith in any coach. He's done everything wrong that could be done wrong. The players hate him, he's the reason MWP and Beno are being waived. The guy admitted he "wasn't aware" of the 2 for 1 situations in last nights game. An NBA coach "wasn't aware" of a 2 for 1... That is beyond ridiculous. It's not a question of whether or not Woodson is a bad coach, he IS terrible. There's no debate and hasn't been for quite a while. Anyone that doesn't see he is one of the main problems with this team wouldn't complain even if a retarded monkey coached this team. Oh wait, monkeys can't communicate with people in English, so I guess he's got Woodson beat there.
Sorry, coach's make mistakes. Woodson is just playing it out to get his money. I don't blame him. They'll want a new coach next year.
Thats my take. I think we keep blaming coach's when the roster don't add up is silly.
I am long on record that the process to make decisions is awful.
Fans don't get it, we yell and get pissy when Barkley and ESPN pisses on us. Problem is not the media, its management.
Fire the coach, bring in another, then fire him.
Rinse, lather, repeat....
Woodson's goose was cooked when Grunwald was canned. He couldn't decide who made his roster, who could start, who could play how many minutes and when. I think he may have been forced into the big line up as well. Hopefully a new gm and a new coach come in that are on the same page. Shump pushing Woodson would not have been tolerated by Woodson/Grunwald. Shump probably wouldn't have done it back when Woodson had juice.

there's only two coaches out there who care about winning in NYC. mark jackson and patrick ewing. i don't care how.... we need to get one of them in here. there's no other coaches out there bleeding blue and orange. and i think without the coach being a true knick... the players in a knick uniform will never fall in line. someone with a strong voice... not like herb.

The last 24hr, there has been few reports that there is some rant against M Jackson and that with Iggy GA were supposed to get higher seeding, i hope that jackson will get here, we could have had him, but we passed for Woody....

Walsh passed for dantoni and then spent three years trying to make a bad hire not look like a mistake.

This team has been a disaster since the conclusion of the 2000 season. Last year we won 54 games BUT we also had similar problems. I have been one of the fans that have been pro-rebuild. I have nothing against Melo but i feel that both sides need a freash start, of course it would of have been nice to tarde him for some assests considering Denver really got a ton. The good news is taht next year we will be pretty bad and will end up with a solid draft pick. then in 2015 we have a ton of cap space

That's if we don't do something stupid like trade the draft pick and eat up our cap space with a crap trade at the deadline next season. This years is done and next year is a play it season. We have everything lining up but I think some how some way Dolan will do something stupid to screw it all up.

Lots of problems, obviously, and yes, way too much coaching turnover, but, simply amazed by anybody who wants to defend, or even deflect, criticism of Woodson.
He's a defensive coach (curiously, none of that showed under MDA),and his players openly hinting they don't like, or understand his 'scheme'. There is no offensive strategy. d Foolish to replace until the 'stay or go' decision of Melo is decided , but he's got to go

What would be so bad about that? He'd be signed for a long contract, teams would give up a lot of assets to get him.
what teams would give up a lot for him at this point? if anything this disastrous campaign in new york has exposed how overpaid he is and how difficult he is to play with.
he has painted himself into a corner here in new york and i hope management forces a cheap contract on him in the range of 13-14 million.
but who are the suitors for his services? will you make a list?
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

that's it, nothing more.
i think you're right in what you say but i have to add that i consider him a malignant narcissist who can only end up destroying... but instead of "hiring people for the wrong reasons" as you say, i think he is incapable of hiring better men than himself and he attracts only those he can make kowtow to him. i mean just look at the quality of people he constantly surrounds himself with!

I think he'll see interest from Chicago, LA, Washington, and Miami and they can have him as far as I'm concerned. Would much rather lose him for nothing than pay $20M+ until he's 35.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion
How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come

Knicks fans basically think the coach is wrong if he plays "awful option a" and benches "awful option b." Yet if he does the reverse, they'll think "awful option a" should have been playing!

okay i don't think any of these teams are going to be suitors for him. but if you don't mind outlining scenarios i am all ears.
and if there are no takers then he is stuck here and can be forced to take a much smaller contract as i said. dude is not worth more than 13 million a year.

I don't see any way out of this situation. It all starts with Dolan. He couldn't stay out of the way long enough to let a real BB Man run this franchise. How can anyone get the job done if he's gonna always step in and make dumb decisions? Even tho I can't stand Woody, this isn't just about the coach. It goes so much deeper than that. Every time they hire a coach that could do a good job if supported, they undermine him. This is the 2nd time we had a coach and changed the GM right from under his feet. That's not how a winning franchise does things. I'm not saying you can't fire a GM but there seems to be no valid reason for the firings. THEN Dolan makes that GM do things they likely wouldn't do if left alone. No plan can ever bee seen to it's conclusion with this owner. As a Knicks fan there's no way out of this. Dolan has to realize he's the problem or there's no hope.

After 4 consecutive Super Bowl appearances, they deceived the fans with mediocre bad rookie QB's or journey men QB's and washed up retread coaches over the last 20 yrs
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
