Fishmike, What on earth does "openly gay" have to do with this man's workout?
I've been looking for hours, and I can't find a single headline tying the preferences of heterosexuals in any sport (with a workout).

You also wont find mention of anyone trying out who is black or white or asian because nobody cares anymore.

This is pretty sad.

I'm making this known because it's not NORMAL to announce your sexual preference to the world just to get a job.

If Jarred Collins(his brother) worked out for the Nets tomorrow, would it have made headline news ?

Nobody has been denied employment (IF THEY CAN STILL PLAY WELL) for being a homosexual in the NBA or WNBA.

Nalod I've had you on ignore for months, why do you continue to post after I make a comment ?????? Are you trying to sway people from listening to me ?

You do a great job of that by yourself.

Its my agenda to promote and hold that posters state sources when posting material such as you do. You take Opinion and present it as fact. While you may lack ability to digest ones opinion as facts My push back is keep things on a level plane.

Your entitled to an opionin as we all are, but you take great liberties with it and lack credibilty.

My agenda is to amplify that. Freedom of the press is not just spewing nonsense. An Op-Ed is one thing. Presenting news as you plagerize without citing the source is irresponsible.

I encourage all the readers here to hold you a decent standard. State your opinion as they are but the constant camoflage that you think gives it credibility has gotten you banned before while you are entitled to your opinions, I don't think your entitled to plagerize or present without citing your sources.

Thats my opinion. I like the UK but if more of you were to infect this place I'd be quick to leave. The type of posting you do makes this place more undesireable.

Your agenda driven diatribe is one thing. State your opinion is ok, but your guilible reposting of conspiracy and ignorant prejudice of Israel, both global and domestic economics and politics in general is intolerable. I would do better to ignore you as it has come to my attention that perhaps my responses actually bring more traffic to your threads.

Jason Collins REALLY at 35 yrs of age !

I just saw his career stats and on average in the past 5 years he play in about 40 games of 82. I don't know how it's possible to average 0.7 points a game…but that was his latest season with the wizards. Does that mean he tips the ball in with a teammate once a game? LOL

He is a vet. He knows how to play and his role is more as a defender. Also, he has played with most of these guys and was respected as a teammate both for his character and work ethic. They aren't looking for a guy to come in and push them over the top. He would be their fifteenth man. Also, they are looking at other guys as well. Also, the endorsement Garnett gave him carries a lot of weight in my opinion. The Nets don't need publicity.

The NBA offices are in NYC, why not start with a team in the media capital of the world.

Prokorov has and will always try and 1 up James Dolan ANY CHANCE HE GETS.

Nobody has been denied employment (IF THEY CAN STILL PLAY WELL) for being a homosexual in the NBA or WNBA.

At this point it's just be a stunt to get him on a roster so that he can be the first openly homosexual in the NBA.
I have no problem with him being a homosexual, that's his choice.

When are we going to have our sexuality put on our driver license?

Some see it for what this announcement really is and others oh well.....

He did it to get a job? Really? It had nothing to do with ending discrimination?

Playa your a bigot, and some find that offensive so when you post stuff like this while making up 95% of the story off the top of your head I suspect Nalod enjoys just calling it what it is. You also have a history of repeatedly posting anti gov propaganda and pawning it off as your own. Your views are exceptionally narrow, and shared by folks who promote hate and discrimination.

I'm not a bigot, what I say if you find it offensive then I'm sorry.
I've never said the articles I post in the other off-topic forum is my own writing, my opinions of them are though.

Nalod may be just upset that I post it as the truth , that's all.

Everybody don't believe the same, I wouldn't call that narrow minded, but I would say this, everybody doesn't have to homogenize on UK topics just to get along.

I never said I hated anybody, these and other lame replies and comments have been used against me to try and discredit what I say. I enjoy bringing out what mainstream media refuses to reveal.

Go show where I said I hated anybody.

Yes, its a story. You think it should not be. Ok. but its not a story on the UK. NObody cares but you. We get it, you don't think its natural. We discussed it. We move on.

Media sensationalize's a lot of things. That does not mean every person likes it. Honey Boo Boo and duck dynasty get great ratings. That does not mean every one watches it.

I know you think your above the sleeping masses but you make many assumptions that while not directed at the mainstream is directed towards an impressionable mass that is griped by fear. Look at the ads that are on InfoWars.com. What does that tell you?

I completely agree with you playa playa , it's almost a pity act. I work for a prestigious law firm, should they announce to the firm that they just hired a gay employee...

I want to welcome john doe to the firm he's GAY, and then everybody suppose to clap for him and pat him on the back..

Should he go to a interview hand them his resume and say, "I'm not really that qualified, but I'm Gay"..

Please explain to me why it's so important to announce your sexual preference to do a job that has nothing to do with sex

Has the law profession have a tv contract with sponsers? Does the Law profession unionized? PLaya brings a very simple point which I don't think is hateful, but not well thought out.

When Ellen Degeneres came out here show was near its end but no major tv star had come out at that point. Remember TV shows have to draw ratings to sell ad space. A flat out rejection means her show was done. A flat out rejection of sponsers would have ended her show.

NBA is an entertainment company. Regarding the law firm, there is no need to make such proclaimation? What purpose does it serve. If a firm was to take on a gay partner it would and it was a very visable move perhaps if some clients were to push back and say "I won't work with a firm that hires them" then its a business decision. If they law firm makes the proclaimaton and decides the contributions of the new partner outweighs the loss, and decides in time it won't be an issue then its also a calcualted decison.

Imagine when a firm hired its first black partner? Think some clients might have pushed back?

Is it different? Of course, but if you have predijudice for race, or sexual orientation it is what it is.

Some refuse to see it that way.

Nobody before this was denied a job for being a homosexual in pro sports isn't what this is all about ?

They are looking for everyone to APPROVE of and not just accept them for trying out for the team like everybody else. If you are real good they hire you period!

I don't know of any pro athlete that was denied employment for having a different sexual preference than his teammates.

Sam's football handlers will try and sue the league(They have billions) if he doesn't get drafted or makes the team I'll bet my two houses on that!

No need to share your sexual preference with the media to get a job in America, unless you want to spread your agenda to be approved by the masses.

Honestly who cares? Collins ha always been a terrible player. I'm still trying to figure out how he got to start all those games for the nets back in the day. It's rather retarded if you ask me.

So he's Gay? So what?

He's soft and he sucks.....is that going to be called an anti Gay remark?

That was a great draft for the Nets. They got Jefferson and Collins and traded for Kidd I believe. Everything changed for them that night.

Thats what you do playa!

Enyspree,he was soft and not a good player "before" he was gay (LOL)

It's rather retarded if you ask me.

Thats one way to say it! How can one statement actually portray you in two ways is tough to construct!

And then to have "Playa" endorse it!

The best way to say "no big deal he is gay" is to just say nothing!!

I just think it's sad that 2014 we are talking about gays in sports. If a guy can play and have great passion and respect for whatever game they play then I want them on my team. We been through too much in this country to be worried about who am athlete is screwing in their spare time.

Kobe Bryant slept with the nastiest bitch in Colorado. I am more concerned with dudes like this in my team. Who wants to shower behind a dude that had sex with chics that have 10 different people's semen in her panties? That's my concern.

I believe Richard Jefferson is Gay. I think Kerry Kittles was Gay too. There's a few guys that play today that seem like they might be Gay as well. Annnnnnnnd?

If can play you can. I hate that people wanna make this into a civil rights victory. Come on now. People love dancing with the stars. They loved will and grace, they love glee, they think it's cool steampipe alley is Gay, biggest loser, rupal, reality tv gay guys....

Yet, you need to point out who you think is gay at the same time and "gay" TV shows.
Your saying to stop talking about yet your doing it?

Will and Grace was funny for 10 min then it got annoying, and ratings dropped. The jokes got old.

While not on par, we watched George jefferson 'move on up". We saw Archie Bunker struggle with is ignorance toward others. TV is a mirror of society and its changes. Acceptance is not approval. Acceptance is tolerance of others who are different. Yes, Gay people want to be treated equal but you will see the culture like it or not. They talk funny, very flashy, like to dance and kiss each other. Yes, you have to treat them like any other. There are people that don't want them in their restaurants, as neighbors or teaching their kids. Sounds like discrimination when that happens.

Its 2014 and now they are coming out in sports. Then it will stop.

We have a black president, imagine that. years ago he had to drink form a different water fountain and had to sit at the back of the bus. He was shunned from society and in some places not allowed to date or marry a white girl. Now he is in the White house. The next black president won't be such a novelty. Lots of whites got sick of the renewed sense of black pride when Obama first got elected. We have black history month, there are black universities, etc. Its 2014 "Whats up with that".........Im kidding of course, but you get my point?

I get it, why even bring up sexual orientation? Well if man was with another man there used to be laws against it, used to be able to fire a man from his job, and sports is no different. If there has been gay players then its obvious they were able to "control themselves in the locker room", and if there has been gay coach's I doubt they converted players into sexual deviants.

Cut the Bull****

This never should have been about his sexual preference. His stats aren't that good . I care about his ability as a player and that is it. Sounds like more of a money making scheme from the team really. As I mentioned his stats aren't good why else would they want him?

Homosexuality is completely fine while other types of sexual perversion are not? If you say "well why not move the line a little bit more to the left and include something like polygamy", then they say that's the slippery slope argument and that it's not a valid argument. Why not say a brother and sister can get married next in 2014, this country is on that path slowly but surely.

ANYTHING GOES WILL BE THE NEW BUZZ WORDS. Pedophiles were in the white house and it was swept under the rug after the initial report because they control the media too. http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/Franklin/FranklinCoverup/franklin.htm

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
