GSW Harrison Barnes on the trading block. They are looking for offense from the bench. You think they will bite on JR Smith?

I'm kind of shocked they'd trade Barnes. I thought they were very high on him (granted I haven't kept up with them this season). Doubt they'd take JR, but I certainly hope we'd look into it...

He hasn't played well this season, and he doesn't really fit with the Warriors now they have Iggy. I wish we'd start taking gambles on these types of player (ones that haven't quite put it together yet but could) rather than focusing on established 'stars'.

While we need back court help more I see Faried as being a longer term piece and more dependable then Kmart. Its time for Kmart to go, he plays well with energy then he breaks.

I think Faried would be more desirable to Boston than Shump in any deal for Rondo.

Watching Rondo shoot jumpers in a knick uni is going to make me ill.

Well keep Faried away because I don't want Rondo. Faried is a guy you get and hope he has a good month the next year and then sell.

Dude, are you serious? Rondo is balling right now on just one healthy leg. He might even be better than Melo when healthy. Why wouldn't you want him?

Done for this season but expected to be back on opening day next season. I wouldn't want the player-version of James Dolan though e.g. plush with all the tools to be great at what you do but dumber than a doorknob.

He is indeed out for the season, but I read Denver were unhappy with his attitude and effort regarding the rehab. He is terrible- every time I watched him play he seemed to have a positive impact for the opposing team! I live in fear of reading we've traded Bargs for him!

You should be afraid. I definitely am. The funny thing is that I was a big supporter of the Knicks acquiring a second first round pick in the 2008 draft to get him (or Ibaka or Batum). His talent is and always has been intriguing but that new contract of his makes him a real liability for his team.

I doubt he bytch slaps dudes that owe him money on the court (Tyrone Hill) during warmups but his energy type game would be appreciated in the mecca.

He is terrible at defense, and is a terrible fit for this team- we have too many PFs as it is, plus he can only really excel in a fast tempo team and we're one of the slowest. Can you imagine the offensive horrors of a front court of Tyson and Faried?!

+1. Shumpert's value is way down but Faried isn't too far behind. In any case, he would not fit with what we do; he is hardly fitting into what Denver does and they still have one of the faster paces in the league.

We'd need a coach that isn't braindead to make it worthwild. Guys like Hardaway and Tyler fit the bill of what you described but they are hardly getting time or training from Woodson.

Houston Rockets: New York Knicks Express Interest In Omer Asik, and Jeremy Lin

The trade deadline is less than a week away, which means it’s almost time for trade rumors to go away until the summer. But not before some of the rumors that have been thrown out there become true. Houston Rockets center Omer Asik has been on the trade market virtually the entire season, and according to Matt Agne of Knicks 101, the New York Knicks may emerge as a destination for Asik, if the Rockets end up deciding to deal him, as well as Jeremy Lin:

“Rockets GM Daryl Morey has asked a lot for Asik all season long. He should. He’s in a position of power with a skilled big man who is under control for another two seasons after this one is over. He also shouldn’t let Lin go cheaply. It could save Houston a lot of money to trade Asik and Lin but they’re also impact players on their roster. That’s not something you give away without compensation.

Asik want out of Houston. He believes he’s on the verge of becoming and All-Star center and shouldn’t have to sit behind Howard or shift to power forward to play beside him. The biggest obstacle of trading him is finding a team willing to pay him the $14,898,938.

There’s little doubt that the Knicks would love to bring Asik to New York. He’s four years younger than Tyson Chandler who projects as a relatively even scorer as Chandler but a better rebounder Per-36.

However, at 7’0″, 230 pounds he has a better, wider frame than Chandler with a solid lower body and a 7’2″ wingspan. Asik plays with a great motor, is a serious player with fairly nice athleticism. He finishes nicely around the rim, has a developing mid-range game and is an active defender.

Lin has played well for Houston. but his and James Harden’s skill sets work better separately so Lin has found himself coming off the bench. There’s little doubt that he’d prefer to be a starter. Clearly he’d be an upgrade to Raymond Felton. However, Lin is also scheduled to make $14,898,938 next season.”

ESPN’s David Thorpe has also suggested that the Knicks could emerge with a last minute push for Asik as they are desperately looking for frontcourt help, with Iman Shumpert, Tim Hardaway Jr, and either Tyson Chandler or Raymond Felton involved, along with Lin.

Stephen A. Smith stated on his radio show on Friday morning on ESPN New York, that he heard about the possibility of this deal:

“You also want them to consider doing something with Raymond Felton. Heard some news about some potential deal involving Jeremy Lin. Can’t imagine getting Jeremy Lin to come back to New York, but with the state of affairs that exists with the New York Knicks right now, I wouldn’t be opposed to it, to be quite honest with you. Anything is help. Anything! I mean, my Lord, it’s just been bad.”

Based on Rockets’ general manager Daryl Morey’s history at trade deadlines, almost anything is possible, and some type of trade for the Rockets is probably expected. Just who will be involved is the ultimate mystery until Feb. 20 hits.

I'd love it, but it ain't happening. The source isn't very credible, plus Tyson doesn't make sense for the Rockets. We really need to move Tyson- he's checked out and I think it's best to move him while he has value. Lin and Asik would be a good return as they also don't impact on 2015. Won't happen though.

Tyson, JR Smith for Asik and Lin would be ideal but it might me Tyson, Shumpert and Fatton for Asik and Lin instead.

No way will Melo approve this deal. And they know that if they want Melo bacl Lin dosen't come here. Dolan does stupit things but why would he pay 15 million for Lin. It's a big joke. I say that no deal will be made by the Knicks.

The Knicks might do it. Half of lin's and asik's deals don't count against the cap. It was the new penalties in year 3 of the CBA that made lin's deal a poison pill.

Hardaway becomes 6th man and Lin and shump reunite in the backcourt. This will inspire Shumpert and you will see lock down defense every play

We don't need JR's inconsistencies and headaches. Hardaway needs a bigger role
