The Knicks are still talented enough to be further up the standings and he hasn't helped matters:
1-He never sorted out and stuck to a rotation and is still "trying to figure it out"
2-Only just started putting Shump on opposing PGs in, I believe, the last month or so
3-Waited almost half a season to go to the 2 PG sets that were a strong point last season
4-continues to allow this team to switch non-f'ing-stop
5-Shorter rotations, forced by injury, have yielded stronger play (not even talking about the recent weak 4 game winning streak)yet he continues to toss guy's in for inconsistent min and the overall team play decreases as a result
I'm beginning to think his preference for vets is due to his lack of ability to adapt in games.
I numbered yours above.
1-What would you say if he did the opposite? He was too stubborn?
2-Shump sucks anyway. It's switching seats on the Titanic.
3-Prigs was out half the season. We don't have any other PG worth putting at the SG spot.
4-Shitty players look bad whether they switch or not.
5-When players who are big liabilities get injured, it often helps teams. We have the only team that all century (hint: see Dolan) insisted on high paid veterans always playing before better, younger players.
1-Yes, I think he's incredibly stubborn or just thinking it'll sort itself out. Don't think the overall record would be nearly as bad if there was a set rotation where guys knew their roles.
2-Shump has struggled, but is 100X the defender Felton is. So is Murry. Do you not agree? Wish I had time to research opposing PG's individual numbers against him.
3- But Prigs was not out during the beginning of year (injured in Dec), but agree about your second point. I just wish the ball wasn't in Felton's hands so much.
4-We really disagree here because I feel their are guys who are capable of playing their man straight up. Every game I'm watching late rotations and constant mismatches causing easy buckets. When minutes and lineups vary, how can a team gain any defensive chemistry? Switching is ridiculous.
5-Don't think it's all Dolan, as you seem to be implying. Woodson prefers Vets.
*** I think Woodson is a poor man's Doc Rivers. By that, I look at Rivers ridiculous insistence at playing Avery Bradley at the 1 last year and he was atrocious. Enter Brad Stevens this year and he plays Jordan Crwford at the 1 and moves Bradley to his natural 2 spot and they played really well. All I'm saying is I want a Coach who is able to recognize when something doesn't work and adapt.
