I doubt that. Ian Mahini has been brutal this year--my bet is Bynum is 2nd string center as soon as he is ready--hes 5X better. They probably want to get rid of Mahini if they can as soon as they can as well for the 4mm spot to add $$ to pay Stephenson.

Agree about mahini. He is the only guy left that Walsh acquired during Bird's year away.

Bynum has won 2 man championships and was a 19-12 c 2 years ago this will put the coffin in the east.

Yes, and he's been the Invisible Man for the last 2 years and such an asset that suck azz franchises are letting him go for free.

Says alot more than what's gone on in the past.

Glad to hear about your preference. I would suppose a scene of Blatche and Russian Czar hoisting a trophy with KG kissing it while JayZ scowls off camera would make your life a bit more fulfilled than warm feelings for Larry Basketball, right?

Just for the record, Brooklyn winning a chip before we do would make me throw up in my mouth. Anyone else winning, bleh.

All four grand parents came from Russia, I come from brooklyn, and AK74 has dragon wings!
I have been witness too many Celtic resurrections. I was too young to have seen bill Russell play but knicks finally rose in 1970-73 and then in 1974 they come back with Jo-Jo White and Dave cowens to win another? WtF was that! Then the 80's with Bird and company? The Starphuch KG, Truth and Ray saw yet another rebuild and a chip. Celts have had three championship eras since our last. That does not count the Auerbach coached Dynasty!

If Nyets can succeed but not at the cost of the Knicks then IM more than good with that!

Here's Indy's thinking for everyone else here.

If Bynum proves to fit in and make an impact backing up Roy, the Pacers now have Mahinmi to move.
The Pacers are trying to fortify their bench, because they realise that all teams have a huge drop off in their bench units, and it's basically lost points.

I can GUARANTEE that the Pacers will be exploring a Kyle Lowry trade at the deadline. They'll be looking to move Ian Mahinmi, CJ Watson and a 2016 1st Round Pick (1-14 protected) for Kyle Lowry.

Why for Toronto? Mahinmi is a perfect fit as a back-up to Valanciunas. He is not over-paid and he is a very good, physical defender. Having him locked in for 3 years is a good thing for Toronto. Ujiri is a fan of advanced statistics, and Mahinmi measures very well defensively.
CJ Watson is a throw in for salary, and no matter what Toronto management says, they don't want to win now.

Why for Indiana? They want to win now, and they want an assured championship. They realise they have no alpha scorer on their team. Paul George looks amazing for 3 games and terrible in the next game. They need a collective unit much like the early 2000 Blazers, or the 2004 Pistons.
Line-up:
CT: Hibbert/ Bynum
PF: West/ Scola
SF: George/ Granger
SG: Stephenson
PG: Lowry/ Hill

There is no way anyone can beat that team. Amazing defense

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

IF this was to play out, it'd be pure genius. But will it?...

It works on trade checker. I think the first rounder would be intriguing for the raps. mahini's deal is for 3 years and he is not very good. I think that would be the only thing that cause the Raps to pause.

What do you mean ? lowry hasn't guaranteed he's staying in Toronto, they have to get something now.

That franchise is plastic, they aren't about winning long term just trying to keep the naive fan base there in the GTA.

Phew, Berman reporting we made a push for Bynum that fell short- would have been a terrible fit for this team

I kinda hope that the Heat beat the Pacers whenever they play them now. It seemed like a bush-league move by Indiana because they have no real need for Bynum with Mahimni on the team.

Agreed, relieved when I read that he signed elsewhere. He may play well for the Pacers, but ours is not a locker room that could handle Bynum right now.

While I prefer a NY team over one from Miami and Indy, If this puts them over the top of Miami enroute to a championship I'll give the good folks in a small market Indy props and celebrate with them a championship!

I'll be very happy for Herb simon, Larry Bird and Donnie Walnuts if they can pull it off.

+1. Once Knicks are eliminated, I'm down with Indy the rest of the way. Well-built, small market team with heart and talent. Gotta love it.

2nd favorite team in the league by far. I live everything about that team and I am a big Lance fan. That kid is special.

This is just wrong, wrong, wrong- did Knick fans used to root for the Bulls when MJ beat us in the playoffs?!

Agree. I hate the Pacers. Hate Vogel and his smugness. I hate the calls Hibbert and George get. David West is the guy that messed up Melo's shoulder. Waiting patiently for father time to catch up to him. But I do admire how Bird put together their roster.

I hadn't thought of this option but it might work in the sense that I doubt Hibbert and George are going to let Bynum do anything to hurt their chances. Get the feeling that the team as a whole won't put up with anything for very long. Pacers really do have the eye of the tiger this season.
