Playa2 - if you have played organized sports at any competitive level you understand that no athlete plays to lose. Unless you have evidence to support your NYK conspiracy theory, you got nothing.

Athletes compete to win. Professional athletes are wired with extra large egos, developed over years of work, many times at the sacrifice of other aspects of their development. Do you really think any player who has invested so much in a career would toss it away to simply make a point?

Would you delicately fail at your job to make your boss look bad?

Mista, I never got paid for playing sports, but I have seen players put in less of an effort just to make a point to those who were in charge.

Athletes all have big egos at this level, but they also carry this thing called PRIDE.Pride to make their point known

If these players could get fired and never have a job again i would agree with you.

But you have to remember these are the greatest athletes in the world they will get a job elsewhere if not in NY.

And me personally, I would never attempt fail to make my boss look bad, but that doesn't mean others wouldn't.

Mista, you really don't think Melo put in less effort under Danphoney on purpose huh ?

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

This is called a silent protest, on the court negligence will reflect on the coach and owner to stop the foolishness or be prepared for the same. The only guys who might break the protest are the ones who has no agenda and need a job or are in contract negotiation situations.

Lemme get this straight...

Select Knicks players are deliberately holding back on their individual effort - not caring whether they jeopardize their off-court earnings via endorsements in the largest media market in the world, and in the process, inviting the derision of 19,494 people who are unhappy with the price of attending a game and witnessing sub par play in person ... resulting in eroding the value of each of their personal brands (and future earnings) by being labelled as overpaid losers...

... for the sake of staging a protest?

Okayfine

When you can come up with a motive, besides this roster sucks come talk to me.

When they put up valiant efforts on the road you have to ask yourself, why all the effort when home town fans are not rooting you on.

Did Melo lose money(endorsements) or fame when he didn't put in the great effort under Dabphoney that he showed under Woodson last yr. NO NO NO

Papabear Says

I first thought that there was a quiet protest going on but it's not. These players are not that good. Every now and then they may have a few good game and then back to playing bad. How many times do Woody have to say defend the paint. No they just let players just run by them. Shump is a good defender but it is crazy to think that he is a shooting guard. Ray Allen is a shooting guard who was the leader of his team before he went to Boston. Felton just can't defend these faster point guards. He scores in sperts. Melo has no one he can really depend on. They throw up more bricks than a brick layer.

Well...it's a combination of two things.
1. Everybody comes to play at the mecca. Visiting players know this is their time to shine, under the Broadway lights....that's extra motivation.
2. WE ARE NOT A GOOD TEAM.
Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

The game against the NETS will show you what i'm talking about.

Dolan wants this game more than anything and you all know it.

Knicks lose its a "conspiracy".

If you add playa up, he wants to say "Players are revolting against their slave master"?
But even he knows that might be going too far.

Dolan is getting the ultimate slap in the face from the players today.
His crosstown rival Prokarov is letting him know, my players love playing for me and your don't care and just want you to sign their checks. Sprewell when he came back to play the knicks got right in Dolans face and cussed him out if I recall.

Do you remember why? Do you remember he did during a game. Did it infront of children. Did it for egocentric reasons.

I don't like me Dolan, but Spree was out of line.

If you think todays game is about Dolan your delusional.

I'm not condoning what Spewell did, I'm just showing you these players don't like his politics with Isiah in running a team and they are fed up !!!!

Sprewell was that type of guys to disrespect him in front of men woman boys and girls. That showed how despised I think he is with all the meddling going on with him and Zeke. That's why they put Mills back in the mix, these guys are nasty !

Popovich woulda quit. Phil Jackson would have boycotted the building.

This happens every year with the Knicks. If you don't want that, you shouldn't coach here.

They showed me in the biggest game of the yr, the team is divided, they don't like the coach or the owner for what he has done.

Mentally some players got together and said Melo since you want all the money, and telling everybody at the beginning of the season that you're gonna test free agency play hard by yourself. Tell Dolan and Isiah to come out and play with you, we know you are gonna pull a JR smith and play hard to get the most money you can, other than that you would play like you did for Danphoney before he resigned. It's all eternal the problem with the knicks, these guys can play good enough, but they are protesting for the failure of management to put together a group of players with no freaking biases, you earn your play. That's when guys will put forth the effort knowing it would get them time on the court.

You don't beat the Spurs and Dallas and almost beat Houston on their homecourt on the road.

That's not an easy task for any team !
They will never play good for Dolan again until the Dolan/Isiah/Woody triangle of death is dismantled

They will never play good for Dolan again, until Dolan/ Isiah/ Woody triangle of death is dismantled...

Or until we get a point guard.

Whichever comes first.

This team is just not very talented. The couple guys who are talented are boneheads. This is a slow ass team. That's why possessions are ugly on offense. Nobody can get to the rim and nobody can break down the defense. Our best hope is just feeding guys in the post 90% of the time and trying to play inside out. These guys are incapable of driving or using any screens most of the time.

This team is playing against another NBA teams.
And most of this teams have on average better players that Knicks.
That's why they are losing more that winning.
Knicks are outplayed and out-coached on regular basis by teams with balanced rosters, young fast guards, a couple of stars, good coaching, great defense and some combination of all above.
This is not a conspiracy, this is ineptitude, stupidity, laziness, and mockery of basketball. This is MSG.

That's why they can go to Texas on the road and win 2 out of 3 and could have won the 3rd game with what you described above.SAN ANTONIO, HOUSTON AND DALLAS. You saw guys rotate, rebound and play defense and help each other out.

Yea right, they just don't want to play well at home in front of Dolan .
