Bynum is Jerome James with rings. The talent is there but the man is not passionate about his craft.

He wants to play for a contender. Why argue?

Briggs inner Isiah is seeping out. We all have an inner Isiah. Bynum has always had a soft spot in Briggs heart but I think this kid from what I read is punching in on the clock with pain and if the bank account is full and no love for the game then it gets tougher thru the years.

It's a win win situation for us.

Either he helps us make some noise in the playoffs....or
He helps us get a high draft pick.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

But see where we are today (12-22), we're not the likeliest team to win it all. (I still think we're going to go on a run and finish over .500, and confuse a few teams in the playoffs)

If we could add 15-25 quality Bynum minutes (the way Jermaine O'Neal was giving quality limited minutes when he's played over the past 2 seasons), he'd certainly give us a boost.

He's been hurt so long that I don't know if he has it in him to return to being the player he was just 2 years ago. At the time, he was easily the #2 center in the NBA, and probably the best post-up center in the league that year. Better moves than Howard (oh wait, Howard doesn't have any moves).

Howard has a good move pivoting to the left and going off the glass left-handed

Bynum is Jerome Jmes with rings? Bynum was the WCF all star C for 3 years?? They guy avg 19-12-2 at 24 years old hurt. I have followed his career---I would suggest reading what Phil Jackson says about Bynum--he must know him best!

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/88016/the-cavs-are-thinking-playoffs-the-bulls-are-thinking-ahead

I'm not sure what the Bynum optimists have seen this year. This is a broken player who can barely get up and down the court, can't finish at the rim, and can't move at all on defense. Bynum is shooting 42 percent, a catastrophe for a big man who hangs around the rim. He has hit just 46.8 percent of his chances in the restricted area, a bad mark for a player of any size, and he has compensated by drifting away from the hoop. About 30 percent of Bynum's shot attempts have come between 10 and 19 feet away from the basket this season; about 8 percent of his shots came from that range in his final season with the Lakers. Bynum is a serviceable midrange shooter, but this is a bit much.

He's still a very good offensive rebounder, and he draws double-teams in the post. But some of those double-teams stem from the opponent's belief that it can pressure Bynum into turnovers, since he has never been all that good passing out of double-teams. He's still blocking shots at a decent rate. A large human is a real deterrent at the basket.

But the guy just can't move. Cleveland allows 11 fast-break points per 48 minutes when Bynum sits, and nearly 19 when he plays, per NBA.com. That first number would rank Cleveland among the league's four best teams at preventing fast-break points. The larger number would rank them dead last, by a mile. Bynum single-handedly kills any team's transition defense, and he's helpless moving around the foul line to contain pick-and-rolls.

With Bargs and Bynum the Knicks would have the two slowest and worst transition defenders in the league. So you can't play them together and their is no relief when playing them separate. Throw in Amar'e and let the fun begin.

Transition defense had nothing to do with the center. It's rare when you have a center that can run the floor enough to defend transition buckets. That's the back court and wings job to stop the ball on the break.

We refuse to upgrade the point guard position but Woodson loves the small unit, so we shouldn't have a problem defending the break. It's just a retarded conversation cuz we have flaws that we shouldn't.

No matter what we really need to look at revamping the team so we can correct team problems. A coaching change needs to happen too. It always comes back to that.

1 thing I dont get about this thread is why anyone believes Bynum would choose to come to the Knicks when he could choose to play anywhere he wants. Can we just stop with this nonsense already

Edit- I just want to apologize Im forgetting living in a fantasy world is much better than the reality of this team. Dream on

If we stopped with the nonsense this site would get zero hits.

It's fun to speculate. We're supposed to be enjoying this space remember?

Wonder if the Nets use their injury exception to sign Bynum. Reports are he won't play for the minimum.

ESPN has these 3 teams as the most likely team to get Bynum.

1. Clips
2. Heat
3. Rockets

I get the Heat. Clips and Rockets? Weird.
