![]() translation = Iman would be valued much higher and develop much faster/more productive outside of NY, with a real system/coach/philosophy, and a development staff to continual look to improve his daily habits that he already has the work ethic down on....
No he didn't become the Wesbrook/Sprewell (the ultimate reach package) that some thought he could have maxed out on with potential I really wish Knick's would have signed James Johnson who is playing on the Grizzlies now http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3999/james-johnson we wasted the rest of our mini MLE for a broken MWP (while we could have locked James Johnson down on a 3 year team option deal with the money instead or even a 2 year vet min deal) SF/PF around 6-9 6-10, 250 lbs Like with any player in the league, playing with the right philosophy/system, with the right players that fits his skills, and having a GOOD FIT has great potenial I believe if we had James Johnson on the team, instead of MWP, we would still be a 50% ball club, the Chris Smith signing just demoralized and stirred up more drama both on and off the court, multiplied by the losing and Melo opting out drama, as Chris isn't even talented enough to play in a backup role in the D League Knicks lineups Murry Iman James Johnson (defending the opponents best player from Harden, Durant, to Lebron, Paul George) Melo/Kmart or..... a forward or basically any position like JR Smith *the JR SMITH OF LAST YEAR END oF SEASON, putting James Johnson at PF* Chandler/Kmart/AB * Bargnani is not a bad 1v1 defender at all, just much worse as a help defender especially at PF* |

That was based on his college play. He is an athletic freak and impressed in individual workouts. I know some fans compared him to Spree when he got to the nba but Shump was never projected as that type of talent. Did anyone ever say he could be a Westbrook? He isn't that good. Shump is a lot closer to Tony Allen then he is Westbrook or Spree. I don't see Woodson as keeping Shump down. He has started him throughout despite bad play. Shump coming into the league was criticized for decision making, shot selection, focus, attitude and bball iq. His strengths were defense and athleticism. Sounds like a guy that a coach is going to speak to a lot. I think trade rumors impacted Shump and I think Chris Smith being left on the team has impacted him. I think JR not being held accountable for so many different things impacted him. I think Shump and Woodson have had a typical rookie heading towards vet player relationship. Woodson has had Shump as a player since the start of his career. He has always been in Shump's ear. If you want to say that Woodson needs to hold JR accountable and get on him more to make it more equitable I get that. But Shump is a pro and has played for Woodson for all three seasons he has been in the nba. I don't know what team has a developmental staff. I know the Warriors or hawks sent a coach down with Tyler to the dleague to monitor him and work with him. I know Dan D'Antoni's pet project was Moz but I don't know of any specific developmental program that a team has in place that would be a model for what you are suggesting. I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18
