I'd do Shumpert instead of a draft pick.

Shumpert is huge disappointment I thought he was 17-5-5 material but he clearly is just a defensive role player. No finishing ability, suspect jumper lacks instincts and mentally weak.

I was on the low end at 12 - 5 - 5.....he can't even give us that,, and we are playing him heavy minutes as the starter.

if he does it on another team so be it, just keep our names out his mouth. if he goes to Toronto, good luck trying to get playing time over the youth they have over there.

one way to look at it is we get from under Feltons contract. Its not a big one but we get his sorry ass outta here....lowry could then be flipped again this year before the deadline. Boston wont laugh at us if we offer lowry in a Rondo trade....

I think we should roll the dice....

Try not to give up a kings ransom...Lowry is a solid point guard. Getting him would solidify the position and then you make a decision on how you want to strengthen the team....

right now the knicks need to be trying to get this locker room clear of some of these cry babies....change the focus and culture.

Lowry is not the best but he will do his job. guys just aren't doing their jobs that's why we are losing like this.

why wouldn't dolan do the deal. i thought it was all about 2015? he could have moved felton and saved his salary..

so wait, he moves novak and picks to get sucknani. and this was spun by most desperate fans as the 2015 plan.. LOL..

yet he won't move a 2018 pick to skim more off the cap? I mean really dolan? hahaha, he is shook. word is he is concerned about the backlack from the carmelo trade at this point... and doesn't want anymore bad press..

this trade is a lose/ lose for the knicks..

I agree we are in a bad pick situation, but this is a 2018 pick... if you plan on keeping losermelo, why not get a PG, we have no NBA starting caliber PG... just saying... I hate trading picks, but since the knicks are hell bent on building around this loser, might as well make the deal..

Lowry is a gigantic upgrade.

Lowry over Felton is huge.... not convinced it makes the team substantially better. Sorry for the lack of clarity

There is no bidding war, raptors are the ones leaking the deal so the can up the ante. You know one mention of the Nets automatically puts the fear in the Knicks. Maybe Dolan is finally learning the game.

Exactly. Don't throw every last asset on a player who we may after this year or screw up 2015. Lowry isn't getting us deep in the playoffs. I'd love to take the chance on him if all we were giving up was Felton Artest and the 2018 pick. Throw in Shumpert and THJ and we are left with no assets to get better via trades which we might need if good players don't want to come play for Dolan

Dolan is a sucker and fool. When Layden was in town he got us fleeced on the McDyess deal. Imagine if the Knicks kept Nene. And even that was poor scouting as Wade was someone the Knicks could have chosen before the Heat...and that would have been great if only to stick it to Riley.

He lets Denver route the team for Melo, then dealing with the same GM takes on Bargs (who they couldn't get rid of fast enough), and was ready to sign off on another deal with for Lowry but suddenly he gives a **** about draft picks!?! We know their importance, but they don't factor into this organizations thinking process. I do think the total package the Daily News detailed is too much, but Dolan won't just let his folks do their job. No way JVG or anyone with half his sense wants to come here. Jax would never coach in NY with Dolan as owner...his rep had to be a huge factor in LeBron choosing to take his talents elsewhere. Melo has to see the writing on the wall too, so this will only hasten his departure. The man is a cluster****.

I want to love this team, but his mere association, as much as his ineptitude, makes it really difficult. That and they pretty much suck right now, but I got used to that...

It was Nene or Amare in that 2002 draft. Lebron Melo and Wade was 2003

Did we have a pick in that historic draft? now it's the same in 2014 historic draft and no pick.

Actually I think we took Frank Williams with the 30th pick in the 2003 draft

this was leaked by toronto. the value has now been set for lowry as this deal was agreed to. i expect him moved in a similar package by monday (most likely to another team). dolan probably won't get back in this b/c he's a stubborn child.

but they'd have no reason to. Shumpert and swapping 1st round picks would be more reasonable.

I don't know the infatuation with Lowry, but the Knicks should not even consider a player from the Raptors. There only one player of real value and that is Derozen.

i like lowry, but he's a FA after the season, so i can't believe the nerve of toronto to even make such demands.

we should never deal with them on principle.

I would try to use the package Toronto is asking for to get Rondo. Not sure what to expect from him this year though coming off surgery
