Shump is supposed to be tyreke Evans with better defense.... so that's kinda funny. I wish we would have tried to get Isiah Thomas from sactown before he stated averaging 18 2 and 4 in 27 mins off the bench this year

Evans sees the floor better than Shump. Shumps calling card is defense but he plays wild defense which means he get burned a lot he can learn that. But Evans is the better player and more polished around the basket. Ideal type of SG/PG.

Tyreke is obviously better but Shump is supposed to be displaying close to that production considering all the expectation. Shump still might get there but that's not going to help this year.

Livingston had zero assists the other night directing the Nets and Rubio ran circles around him.. Livingston use to be a above average defender pre-injury but he lost alot of lateral movement on the D end reacting to others and is rather mediocre these days m2m even with the benefits of a long wingspan. He never has been much of an outside shooter but does use his height to post at times. He has a clue about pace, doesnt hog the ball and plays with a thought but he's nothing but another backup in NBA and his health is still a question. He could have given us another dimension given the short height of all our pts but he's not better than Felton and wouldnt be starting here

Well how do you get assist when Lopez is out, all the other guys go one on one.

If you look at his stats for the year ,they are better than Deron Williams basically.

If he played on the knicks he would be starting right now.

Deron Williams 9 24:05 3.6 8.8 40.5 1.0 2.7 37.5 1.2 1.6 78.6 0.0 1.8 1.8 6.0 2.7 0.6 0.2 1.9 9.3
Shaun Livingston 12 23:32 3.3 7.0 46.4 0.0 0.0 0.0 2.3 2.7 84.4 1.1 1.6 2.7 3.1 1.3 0.9 0.5 2.0 8.8

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

So would a lot backups around the league. Livingston is a good backup. He's not an answer to this mess.

Yes, a great PG would be wonderful.
I enjoyed watching Lin, don't think he's great, but, undeniable to me to watch a team play better with him.
Yet, impossible not to suspect that Melo made clear he didn't like surrendering control of the ball.
So, even were a truly exceptional PG become available, would this team - Melo- truly embrace it, and would 'player friendly' coaches like Woodson - who saw MDA banished for standing up to star players - insist on a PG-driven system?

How much better would we be if we had a PG like.....Eric Bledsoe. He's playing great for PHX. Doesn't even matter the competition -- Lillard and the Blazers opening night; Lawson and Denver; at OKC...he's beasting on everyone. That's the mark of a true top tier PG...Might be banged up right now but I don't think it's anything serious...This is the guy, man. I said it in the off-season. Too bad Shumpert's value has plummeted (I know the Suns coveted him at one point) and too bad there's no real match for a Carmelo Anthony trade -- I would've been OK with Bledsoe, Plumlee and a few picks back to restock with. Imagine if we could've put a package together for Bledsoe in the off-season before the Clips dealt him to PHX. That would've been something. I would've really pushed for that hard..Oh well.

Seth Curry with another monster game for Santa Cruz in the D-League the other day btw. So far he's put up something like 28, 27 and 36--all Ws...Averaging 6 assts per as well. I've seen clips -- looks to be distributing well for his team...I'm not saying this kid will be exactly like his brother but man, there's no denying there are some similarities game-wise. Completely different player than Bledsoe -- still, I feel it's a complete no brainer to cut Chris Smith and bring this kid in. He's not tied directly to the Warriors in any way -- we could sign him. He's fair game. I think this kid would be big here -- maybe something close to Linsanity. 'Curry East!!' This could be a steal to infuse some much needed firepower, energy and hype. At the very least he's a useful role player in the NBA (Chris Smith isn't even a rec league player); at best, he's something close to Steph. Grab him now for nothing and let's find out.

How much better would we be if we had a PG like Magic Johnson in his prime?

I'm being realistic on what PG was available with the salary that fit our payroll, now we have people here talking about guys who are either retired (M.Johnson -J Lin) or untouchables. SMH

If you want a PG who will exceed Livingston who is actually 2 inches taller--get into a draft position to take Kyle Andersen from UCLA the first legit 6-9 PG that I have seen since Magic. UCLA has incredible guards this year and a a top 10 SG in Jordan Adams. Andersen is one of the leading guys for MVP this year in CBB. Im all in to grab Kyl if he can fall into a position past pick 20 where we might be able to come in. He plays with the type of chemistry-laden assets this team needs and he can start PG from minute 1. Needs to work on his J but hes going to get there.

Sounds great if we had a shot, I thought we don't have picks(1st-rd)at 2014 draft ?

The reason why we need a big pg, is because whenever we switch there is such a disadvantage for the rest of the team, it cripples our defense.

Briggs is he potentially as good as Micheal Carter Williams ?
