Yea it seems like people forgot he is still out with a torn acl. If you are will to mail in this year for next year with Rondo than I guess we could go that route

I'm a huge fan of Dolan and all of the trades of the IT era. This trade would be fantastic because it ticks all of the boxes that I feel are important:

we would get an injured star coming off major surgery- who knows if they can ever return to form
we would be taking on major salary for years to come
The new player has a s***y attitude- as we all know being a Knick brings out the best in EVERYONE, especially PG's with s***y attitudes!

So be honest, if you were the Celtics would you rather take on Felton, Amar'e and Shump, or Asik and Lin? Why the heck would anyone take our package of crap over that?!

I could think of 30 million reasons based on how those contracts are structured next year..Boston also want to unload Wallace's contract..But in 2015, Wallace is owed 10 mil, not going to work..

Asik and Lin but I can't imagine the Rockets offering that. Lin is playing great. I doubt they are still trying to move him. The team takes a major step backwards if they do.

Houston will take a step back by acquiring Rondo?

For whatever reason it seems like Harden, Dwight and Parsons, were starting to freeze out Lin. Maybe that's changed with Lin's play, but for a while it looked like he was a goner. Dwight, rondo and Harden isn't a good mix attitude wise, but is very talented. Not sure Harden and Rondi complement each other- I think Lin with his improved shooting is a better fit.

Yeah, for a while it did look like he was a goner. But there's only so long you can ignore a guy hitting almost 60% of his 2s and 50% of his 3s.

you do realize all of this is knick talk.. the celtics like the nuggets most likely are not talking about trading rondo or faried to the knicks..

great question.. but not just that, how many teams out there can and will make better offers for rondo? I mean come on, he is a top 5 PG easily.. and still young..

Don't look at it so much as a better package for Rondo, look at it as who can offer a package that can take on the big contracts to go along with Rondo. Celtics are not trading him unless Wallace, Lee, and maybe Bass join. Very few teams are willing and able to make that work. A Rondo deal won't be just about Rondo, they are a rebuilding team that wants to unload the rest of the baggage.

put it this way. we could well miss the playoffs this year? and we have no pick..

why not secure having a potential stud in rondo coming back healthy?

I think plenty of teams can and will take back some junk to get rondo... but the celtics do want something back in return.. either young players and picks, picks, or young vets... we don't have anything they want.. I mean come on.. the nuggets as I said in the other threads.. laughed us out of the building in the so called shump for faried deal... celts are not stupid either..

POTENTIAL stud, yes. He also has thrived with Pierce and KG around him. We don't know what he looks like with anyone else, and he is coming off major knee surgery. The risks (and incoming crappy contracts of Wallace and Lee) make this a terrible idea. The fact that this is even being reported means the C's see an opportunity for a kill-shot.

Where did you read they laughed us out of the building? Last report is the Knicks thought they had a deal finalized and Denver called back and countered by asking for a pick. I will provide a link if you want it. You live in an alternate universe with some of this stuff. You think they laughed at us for that deal, Denver only wanted to resign Melo so they could trade him, etc. Come on man get it together, you sound like a Knicks hater and nothing more.

This is not true. Someone this morning reported that the Nuggets agreed to send Faried for Shump but at the last minute wanted a draft pick, which the Knicks would not give.

The floated deal for Rondo makes some sense depending on what the Celtics rebuild strategy is. But I just think they can get a better player than Shump and still send out their bad contracts. But Shump fits the bill as a young vet.

Thank you for confirming this. TKF exaggerates his theories beyond belief when they can't even be further from what is reported. Watch him say Denver was just being polite...

I think everyone is pretty upset with the team. One thing that everyone has in common here is that we want desperately for the Knicks to win. Just a horrible start to the season. Probably just as surprising as last years amazing start.

But it's only 9 games in. Let's see if players start following Melo's lead.

that is laughing you out of the building.. Denver knew the knicks had no picks to offer.. they took them all.. they know we can't trade the 2015 pick, they also know we can't trade the 2017 pick.. so the earliest pick they could get would be 2018.. rofl, they pretty much laughed us out of the building..

it is like me telling you.. of course I will sell you my 2014 cadillac cts for 500 bucks, but I also want you to throw in life time blow jobs from jennifer lopez and jessica alba....
