Breen was saying that Shump might be an all star this year..Lots of folks thought this would be his year...He is far from that..He was in the public eye numerous times over the summer..He isn't a rook anymore..There are expectations on him, and he doesn't look like he can deliver...

When the coach has made his mind about who will start and who will get what position and who will shoot whenever they want it's going to be difficult for Shump to break out. These trade rumor have hurt the Knicks in the past. Remember Chandler, Felton and Gallo's play went down as soon as Melo rumors heated up. I see what Shump is doing why perform for a team that has basically sold you short. Make sure the Knicks gives up a lot and gets very little in return. Screw these jokers.

So you think Shumpert is trying to sabotage a trade for the Knicks so they get less for him? I get being upset about trade rumors but if he is doing what you are suggesting and I don't think he is, move him out today.,

Shump isn't hard working...

What makes you say that? He's in excellent shape, he worked hard to come back from knee surgery relatively quickly, and all the reports were that even while he couldn't run, he was working on his jump shot. I think his jump shot looks better this season. It'll start falling.

Every player who has the hunger has improved...George in Indy is killing it..Love lost a lot of weight to get at the level he is playing at...How could Shump come to camp out of shape..He did zero in the off season...I did see him in the press all summer tho...Breen said he thought Shump could be an all star this year..This is the high hopes many have for this kid...He didn't want to play in summer league..Now his game shows no improvement...He isn't a kid anymore...Kid gloves are gone...The NBA is littered with guys who aren't taking this seriously...

Holfresh, I think your overlooking somethings about shump, for 1, he had a schedule trip to china (i forgot what for) prior to the summer league invite, 2)the only reason we are to believe dolan was even bothered by his absence (or woody) is a leaked behind the seen's conversation that stephen A and D howard were having..He never confirm it, never went public, and practically back tracked when it became public.. 3)his jumper has improved a lot since last yr.. 4)shump even admitted to himself and the public that his mind was not where it is suppose to be, and he decided to turn that around starting with the stupid flat top

As much as I like shump, I'm not oppose to making anykind of trade that makes sense and will help this team now, and that goes for anyone on the roster.

One thing is for certain, we have way to much distraction this yr for us to be as good as last yr

1)shump trade talk
2)woodson job
3)jr
4)chris smith
5)the use of amare
6)kmarts minutes
7)line up issues
8)melo's pending FA
9)role issues
10)No leadership

take a look at that list and tell me was any of that sht going on last season

We can't focus, and that from a coach and players stand point.

This is a vet team..Leadership isn't an issue...No one in the NBA can lead Tyson and Melo except themselves...Woodson's job isn't an issue either, only to some posters here...Dude won 54 games last year and got out the first round...This hasn't been done in over a decade...Indy was the real deal in last year's playoffs and they are proving it now...I don't understand why people are wondering about role and line ups...Woodson has to tinker with the lineups to see what he has..He has no idea what Bargs brings, it could be a game changer...How else can he find out other than putting him out there with different line ups to see how he responds??..This can't happen in training camp or in practice..Chris Smith is a big distraction..Amare is done...Shump was counted on as coming into camp as the second best player behind Melo...Well this isn't the case now...Some how Woodson should know how people will play from practice only??..I don't get it...

Back to Shump...I love the kid and want him to stay...He has to earn it tho..It should not be given to him...He didn't work on his handle, didn't work on his mid-range game, didn't work on his penetration and finish..he did nothing but hang in the off season...For that I can't defend him...He should get DWade videos and try to imitate what he does...Work ethic is what make players better in the NBA, not hype and hope...Shump has to decide who he is...Melo said Woody called him practically every day in the off season to make sure he was working out..I'm sure he called Shump and other players as well...Shump didn't work on his game so starting SG was open to competition as it should be...Let him earn it...

Actually, leadership is a huge issue on this team. They have none. They come out unfocused, let big leads evaporate, make dumb plays like fouling Dwight off the ball under 2:00.

As far as Woodson's job security, you're talking about an organization that just abruptly fired the GM that put together the team whose accomplishments you're suggesting makes Woodson's job safe.

kurt thomas, jason kidd, felton, sheed, camby, priggs, copeland, brewer, kmart, thats 9 new guys on the roster coming into last season( although kmart was a late arrival) and there where no chemistry issues, there were no role issues, no line up issue.

Bargs, artest, THJ, beno, thats 4 new players on the roster and we act as if the entire roster had been change, now woodson doesn't know who to play and when.

It took Miami over a year to sort out their chemistry...Cowherd use to refer to Wade and Bron as dueling banjos...Indy figured it out in the playoffs last year..You are talking 8 games in...

Miami started 9-8 in 2012...8 games in with their second best player missing the first 5 games..Third best player and best defender out a month...Stop it...
