Yea, but Raymond Felton wasn't supposed to save New York Basketball like Jeremy "Houston's Savior" Lin.

He was honest about it. He said he believed the hype of Linsanity which what caused him to press. He is human. The fact that he was able to bounce back from it and the injury he had in the beginning of the season speaks volumes of what kind of man he really is.

How many players do you know would accept his own faults in public like that?

Don't believe the hype AND never believe our own hype.

easier said than done

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

1) Doesn't this guy play for Houston now?
2) Average PG who barely played in 1st round ouster.
3) Our average PG made it farther. And played, too.
4) At least IWG will be happy to know Lin does squats.

The Knicks pay $8.5 million to Felton over the next two years

The Rockets will pay $20 million the next two for Lin

context matters

Then let's do the length of the contract and his cap hit to the Rockets. He is paid an average of $8M+ a year and cap hit of $8M+ a year. Not a bad contract for the Rockets.

I personally think cash flows matter but fine - 'by cap hit' Lin hits at $8.3 million and Felton is $4.2 million

You get half as much for your dollar when you buy Lin over Felton, and you don't get any playoff production either.

and wtih the state of the Knicks salaries...it would not matter $4M or $8M since we are way over the cap on the length of Lin's contract.

Give me Jeremy Lin over Felton. LIN's contract does not effect 2015. Felton's does

Oh and Lin is 25. Felton is 30. Lin sees the floor like a PG should

The End.

WHY. If others can enjoy their thread(S) tearing Melo and/or Felton apart, why can't we have our fun too?

5) Thread creation has little bearing on posts denigrating our current Knick PG in favor of a one hit wonder who now is struggling to start somewhere else.

Bonn1997 wrote:Yeah, J-Rod should tell the anti-Lin crowd to chill out

Yeah, I should do that. I just don't know how that would help those who post longingly and lovingly about the has-been phenom with the ridiculous contract. Who's somewhere else.

Maybe Bonn could start a Lin Support Group.

Lin has done nothing but whinge since Linsanity- he's obsessed with making out he's been a victim throughout the entire 'ordeal'. Never shows a sliver of gratitude for the fame and money it made him just to play basketball. Needs to seek solace in god to cope with the 'trauma' of it? Pathetic- should find out about the lives a lot of ordinary people have to live. Hate the hollowness of fame? Then give away all your damn money to people who need and appreciate it and f*** off into obscurity! Annoying!

Felton plays healthy and willing plays injured and was much more productive than Linn for the season.. If Linn has his hand injury, dude would have missed the rest of the season and most of the upcoming training camp too. We don't want any soft, mentally weak, injury prone fake humble pie.

It's hypocritical to seek enjoyment from the young mans struggles. Especially considering his numbers were on par if not better than our PG Raymond Felton

This is how he got hurt back in Linsanity. He actually tried to play through it but could not in the end.

Here is a pic of Lin getting a football type hit which resulted in a muscle contusion in his chest making it hard to breath and to lift his arm.

Both cases Lin was going hard and met with force. You really think he is mentally weak or injury prone? Lin probably sprained his ankle 4-5 times last year and he did not miss 1 game due to it.

The Caphold on Lin's contract after that 3rd year would be equivalent to a Max contract slot.
The Knicks no doubt would have had to release him to sign a max player.
Please no one argue that Lin would have taken a 4 Million dollar salary after that last contract year...

Now we still have a max slot available even after resigning Carmelo.... and we have JR, Felton, Hardaway JR., etc...
Big difference.. I would rather have the max slot available and the role players signed to reasonable contracts.
Lin's contract would not have agreed with our plans in two years.

Suck or not, Felton arguably was the main reason we won the Boston series.

How many playoff games did Lin help Houston win over OKC? ZERO.

Patrick Beverley is a better PG fit for Houston than Lin until proven otherwise. Lin would be good on like a suck ass team like a Philly or Orlando or a backup to Nash in LA.

Good point. That's a good question for J-Rod

Beverly plays well both ways. He's probably better than Lin and Felton combined.

Beverly has low bball IQ though. You know how many times he crashed the boards when he should have been hanging back to protect fast breaks? This happened all the time. He also misses a lot of open shooters.

my point is Lin's contract is a bad one, not whether it applies to the grand plan. Jimmy obviously thought it was a better to let him walk than have a bad contract on the team.

I should note with your logic, the cap hold shouldn't matter at all because the Knicks would've been over the cap anyway
