Hasn't caused any trouble while he's been here, apart from the elbow in the playoffs (and as a Knick fan from the 90s, I don't get worked up about that kind of stuff!), he works hard, listens to the coach and has repeatedly taken less to play in NY. I have no problem with him.

The 90's were great. Do you also remember the emotional baggage that came with Starks and Mason's untimely tech's because they could not contain themselves? I do.

JR Elbow was not about "Being tough", it was about being distracted by a veteran player looking to get into his head and distract him from the game. IT was about a veteran team on the ropes like a boxer in his last match not wanting to leave without giving it everyting! Fans knew Boston would not go down witout a fight and try to pull every trick! Thats what prideful men do. They find the weakness in the opponent and attack it. What we got? KG got into Melo's head and Terry got into JR's in the playoffs.

Personally, JR can give all his money away and build hospitals and I think thats great. But All I ask him is to be a professonal and take care of his body, his mind, be in the best shape possible and give his audiance the best he can. If he don't make his mark on the court it don't matter what he does off it.

IF a poster wants to get in others face about JR not being treated right because he played golf with a Downs Syndrom guy and he is now paying his parking tickets and not killing passengers in his car......Then we go to Chris Rock:

"Your suppose to pay your parking tickets and not kill your friends"

JR didn't kill any one this year, JR didn't post naked pictures to the public, JR didn't get arrested, JR not partying this year like last year,..................And look, he got 6th man of the year and would have made a lot of money had he not crashed at the end of the year and got suspended, caught in the media staring in a niteclube, and played like a bone head upon return.

He had a bad knee? Ok, don't look like too many teams were lining up to sign him either!

Kid has a world of talent and what you do off the court supports what you do on it.

Its called "professionalism". If he had it he'd have made 100mm by now!

Im rooting for JR, but not drinking the "poor JR don't get no love around here" Kool aid bullshyt!

I don't really watch basketball with the mentality of an accountant (no offense to accountants!)- I'm not appalled by displays of emotion or scuffles breaking out (actually find it quite fun)- all part of the game. I hate the sanitizing of the nba by people who seem to want it to have the intensity of a friendly round of golf.

I don't know why people who lose a bit of control over their emotions are labelled 'idiots'- it's an issue of emotional regulation not intellect- to be honest, with all the adrenaline and testosterone going on in athletes during a game, I'm surprised fights don't happen more often.

As long as a player puts in 100% effort, I'll still get mad when they mess up, but I'll get over it.

When you can't control your emotions in the playoffs and you lose the game/series because of it your a bad teammate!

Its a selfish unprofessional act. JR suspension allowed Boston back in the series. If we swept Boston and had some rest, might it have helped against the Pacers? Maybe. We'll never know.

Perhaps his driving record and accidents contributed to the Kennedy assassination! Maybe if JR doesn't have vehicular death hovering over his existence, KG doesn't start the whole Honey Nut Cheerio incident! Maybe JR's MV points contributed in some small way to the virus that gave us Mrs. Hibbert-Flu Tyson! Maybe JR's driving suspensions gave constant flashbacks to JKidd and caused him to forget how to shoot for two months! I bet if Jesus Jeremiah Lin didn't have to deal with JR's lowlife ways, we'd still have that future HOF on the team! Maybe JR's influence is what makes Melo so ISO-orientated!

SMOTY, Indeed! Game winners during the meaningless regular season, bah! Starksian dunks against quality opponents, eff that! He's an immature stooge who shouldn't be allowed to wear any of Dolan's free clothes! Stick your charities, you effing lowlife! Turn yourself in, and spend some time in Rikers! Pay your debt to society and clean yourself up before you try this fake, wussy remaking of your image, punk!

playa, help me out here with some vid links!

Starks couldn't control his emotions, remembering him headbutting a guy but, he is loved by Knick fans. Mase did dumb shyt but he is loved by Knicks fans. No one hates or hated on Childs for giving Kobe a two piece and a biscuit but, Jr Elbows a guy that was fouling him like it is legal and he is reviled and considered a malcontent. Makes perfect sense if you live in a bizarro world.

oops, I might get accused of trying to sell Jr on you guys.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Yes, "the good old days"...........We encapsule our memories the way we want to remember.

Starks and Mase were high value CBA pickups for a reason. Starks had some issues with Management at times that were indicative of his inconsistant nature. Look, IM not judging but there is a correlation to a guys professionalism off the court to his level of play, consistancy and health. Remember why Mase was exiled? Did Starks multiple grandmother deaths and use of the private plane have any effect on his game? The promise of victory in playoffs but bring golf clubs on the plane/play and piss off folks? No, but was his shooting erratic? Emotionally level headed? No.

I love his head butting of Miller, but did we win that game? Did Miller get in his head? Sure did. Miller knew he could mess with him and he'd react.

Its all good until it costs the game.

I judge JR by his game. The rest is ok. Like I said, if you want to post propaganda about the guy and gush all over him like a jersey wearing fanboy then have at it, but remember these are active threads and if I want to be cynical because I think JR is fishing for publicity (not the end of the world) then thats my opinino. He is out there twitting, he is putting himself out there both good and bad. Personally I think the guy has crazy talent but is immature. You want to put his good deed out there to show the world what a great guy he is? Hey, lets have a freaking parade for him!

Young men going out a bad thing? Not if your history of admitting to it being a problem, your suspended, and your playing like crap. IN a world where eveyone has a camera you going to be profiled and put into the public eye. Drop 30 and win the game, no body cares if stare at Rihannas ass all day long. Get supsended, its a different story.

How bad was his knee? I don't doubt it hurt as reported but was not a problem until he melted down? Smells like the MSG propoganda.

Dude wins SMOTY and teams rumored to on him, yet signs for a pretty low price with knicks?

I just think this kid has issues and we in need of talent put up with it. Like Starks and Mase.

you make a direct statement, I rebut it and then you respond in way that neither defends your post nor speaks to the issue in question. You seem to do that to me quite a bit.

Its a subjective conversation. No stats to "defend".

We can go around and 'round I suppose.

Maybe we can leave it at "Durzo gives props" vs. "Nalod Cynical don't buy into propognda".........

We both want the guy to succeed on the court!

Forgive Jrodmc, he's been starphuching with the aliens again!!!

come on man, you made a specific and direct statements. If your going to state a position your not willing to defend, its cool.

Don't goad the Nalod. You'll just end up getting a speech about Nassau Coliseum in the '70's and how ABA cheerleaders would always swallow after games...
