True but I would rather see Hardaway outplay him. Looks like we are going to do the same thing with guards that we did with bigs--were going for 5 guys over 35 years old. Why dont they sighn that kid off of the OKC SL team hes 23 and looks real good. After committing to Prigs do we need another 38 year old PG?

which is why I wonder what is this team doing? trying to win now? according to some, we are getting ready for 2015? who knows... now is a great time to clean house.. give some young guys a look, if some believe shumpert is the next paul george, then let him spread his wings and fly.. clean house, get some picks back and young talent..

Free agent guard Raja Bell worked out for the Knicks in New York on Monday and stood out to the point where he could receive consideration for a roster spot, a league source told RealGM.

The Knicks have been intrigued by the outside shooting and defensive versatility that Bell is known for, and they invited him into their facility on Monday. In the workouts, Bell shot well and outplayed New York’s incoming rookies in one on one drills, a source said, leaving the Knicks surprised given Bell sat out the entire 2012-13 season.

No mention of THJ in the real gm article that sighted anonymous sources ( Bell's agent? ).

yea, I guess they were assuming THJ was included, as you said, I don't see any mention of his name here... strange..

Raja Bell should beat him- he's a veteran baller against a late round pick with no NBA experience. Raja Bell is one of those guys who got by in the league on savvy and bball IQ and those are the kind of things that will take a young player apart in 1 on 1. THJ is gonna need time.

Bell is a legitimate NBA role player. 40% from 3 for his career and top quality defense. He is not very versatile offensively, but brings one skill to the table which the Knicks utilize. He is a good fit for the veteran min. He has savvy and attitude to bring to the bench.

Yesterday the article specifically named THJR they changed that.

I'd expect a 36 year old smart vet to outplay a rookie who hasn't played a single nba game- don't see why we should judge Hardaway's career on this incident!

I feel you're setting him up for a fall, and will slam him after every summer league game. I know you didn't like the pick, but lets give him a season to see what he can do.

I think 1-1 has a lot more to do with physicality and athleticism than skills. A younger guy like Hardaway should ultimately should not be outclassed by someone who is 15 years older than him. Using power and speed he should be able to get to the rim on him--out-rebound him and get in his space

Not really unless there's a significant size difference. Bell knows how to play real NBA defense at a high level and THJr has never played against that level of comp. THJr also needs to get into the NBA weight room.

If it's game 6 or 7 of second round of the playoffs and clock is ticking down --- give me the 36 year old vet to swing the ball into the corner for an open 3 pointer.

That's really what it comes down to --- having guys who can make big (open) shots in big moments.

We need to mix in some younger dudes but I think we will --- don't we still have 6-7 spots to fill on the roster?

The problem is does the 36 year old who is relied upon for heavy minutes--is that guy even there for the big shot 90 games in? Woodson rides these guys--look what he did to J Kidd. So Chauncey Billups is going to hold up here playing 30 minutes? Nope. For example the PG position--we did resign a 36 year old. Thats 30-36--so wouldnt the smart signing be a guy like 23-24 for balance?

Berman just posted this:

Marc Berman ‏@NYPost_Berman 21m

Told Raja Bell looked good in his workout yesterday for #Knicks. But also told Tim Hardaway Jr. looked fantastic, too.

Yeah I think Briggs jumping to conclusions about Raja and who he was outplaying. He could'v'e been out playing Toure Murray for all we know. Either way if Raja looked good in a workout I don't see why wouldn't look at him for the vet min. 40% 3 pt shooter and good defender for a 15th man? sure.

Lol people ready to rush to jump to conclusions on a workout. Raja Bell is playing for a contract, so of course he's going to play hard. THJR is already a guaranteed one, he's merely trying to learn. Even if Raja did outplay THJR 1 on 1, neither's role on the Knicks would be to isolate 1 on 1.

Let THJR play a season or so before we deem him a bust, geez!

One thing I will say about Bell...if we offer him any money on a long term deal he's not giving a penny back...just ask Utah how Bell goes about his business. Also if you don't play him, you're going to hear about it.

Another malcontent, how many more of these type of guys are we gonna keep lusting after? If we're working about Bell things are pretty dire on the interest free agents have in this team.

After weighing up all the facts, I've decided we need to cut our losses and buy out Tim Hardaway Jr- based on this work out, he's clearly not going to make it as a pro.

What? Raja was a baller. Great shooter, 15 point scorer, All-Defensive Teams.

Yup. I remember when Kobe was like "I don't know who that is" and then tried to recruit him to L.A. before he signed with Utah. Considering an all time great thought highly of him says to me that Raja was good.
