You didn't realize that from watching the 2011 to present Knicks?

I did, but as is typical with Knick fans, everyone seems to have already forgotten and are screaming for a 2015 repeat!

I'd much rather of signed Jarret Jack than Jose. Wonder how much he gets.

I don't think anyone is screaming for a repeat. Plenty of people, including me, want a well planned 2015 free agency with cap room though.

And so do I, I think my issue is with people assuming it's guaranteed to work- it's a huge, huge risk and you can end up with literally nothing. And as it's NY our GM would feel pressured to panic-sign someone that would make us all cry. So I suppose, I don't mind altering the plan or doing a trade if something comes up between now and then.

I don't think anyone says it's guaranteed to work. It's probably the least risky approach actually IMO because you aren't constrained by bad contracts.

The problem with the Knicks is they wouldn't be patient if they couldn't sign their targets- they'd end up panic buying. This year we would have built our team around Josh Smith and Jose Calderone!

I think so too, but Jack isn't the type of guy who's easy to fit on most teams. He's not a good enough playmaker to rung your team for long stretches and a lot of teams don't have the luxury of being able to pay for a quality third guard. At least with Calderon, you know you can get at least one more year out of him as legit NBA starting point guard. I don't knock the signing too much, just the years.

Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

Jack is capable of playing PG, SG, SF, not many players in this league can do that, he is a great 2nd PG to have that could play SG to close out games

Shane Larkin *good quick penetrator*
Calderon *efficient shooter/facilitator*

While both could be used together and fit/compliment each other, DEFENSE though will be tough

I forgot the Euro PG they just signed but he is pretty good too
Ricky Ledo

G/F
Carter
Jae Crowder

I agree but technically, that's the problem of impatience, not of cap space per se, though. It's a problem that will likely apply to Dolan's Knicks whether or not the team tries to clear cap space.

They will likely gamble on Andrew Bynum's services and if it works out, they could be back in the play off picture with Dirk's and Bynum's health
