They were talking about it on first take and saying the same thing. Their take was that it wasn't meant to be a recruitment pitch but Kobe's way of getting in a dig at Howard. I read that Howard couldn't even make eye contact with LA when they made the pitch. Kobe might have thought that he wasn't coming to LA anyway.

I see Jarret Jack (5m MLE) and Josh Smith somehow landing in Houston as well, maybe even resigning Delfino and signing snipers like Mo Williams/Randy Foye/Stephen Jackson
a vet min backup PF/C in Kenyon Martin
Forgetting our 2nd round pick from last summer as well in Greece, Pap

Byron Mullens would make sense for a low salary if he wants to get a shot at a ring or go to a rebuilding team that offers a higher salary for 1-2 years in a system where Dantoni would play him 40minutes

Morey knows what he's doing. He's rebuilt Houston without letting them drop below .500, and he's put them in a very good position.

+1. Houston Rockets just got cancer'd. Lakers player it perfectly: Pretend you want the ahole, so as to not give other potential FAs anything negative to think about, but then swing and "miss".

It WILL be neat to see Lin and SuperFool togather. Lin might benefit the most from this move.

I'm told Hawks and Rockets working on sign&trade to bring Josh Smith to Hou, probably for Asik and JLin

You never know with Broussard though

Kobe also said...in an interview about his rehabilitation process and the Lakers going through a transition how he feels about things in general and his place in the organization and one of his replies was...

I EAT FIRST AND SECOND

He also said he wants to play 3 more yrs....lol So Kobe essentially tipped his hand..he's going for All-Time scoring leader and D-12 saw L.A. wasn't going to be his for some time. Keep in mind D-12 never wanted to be in L.A. when he and Kobe had initial conversation on the idea of him coming there. Kobe wanted him to be his sidekick.

WTF?! Take back $17 million in salary on Lin and Asik? The Rockets must be including every 1st and 2nd round pick they own to get the trigger pulled on this one.

What I wanna know is why do they want Smith so much? Is it cause hes Dwights buddy? I heard Asik wants out so that explains that but I dont know why they immediately go for Smith.

Josh Smith is a good player and putting him on a team with Harden and Howard could be scary good. Josh Smith is nasty. This kid will give you 17 points a game with 8 boards 4 assists plus a steal and a block per game. The problem is that he's not a franchise player who wants to/will get paid like a franchise player.

Asik and Lin for Smith would be highway robbery which is why I think the only possible way for the Rockets to get this deal done would be to include whatever draft picks they have for the next few seasons.

I think Smith is solid and him and Dwight would be a great defensive front court. Its the offense im confused about. I think Dwight works best with a stretch 4 and isnt Smith a poor shooter?

Easy to do when you can screw teams out of their own players like Lin and Asik but have to give credit to where credit is due.

Yeah Smith is more of a run and gun guy....transition hoops, dunk on you highlight guy. He's like 30% from 3 land in his career but defense creates offense and Harden is going to take the shots anyway.

I hope our front office is trying to swing a three way to land Asik and a backup big for Tuson and whatever it takes.

I don't think we're in the running since we don't have cap room so we don't have what Houston wants in return. Unless you want to give them Melo. They'd take Melo.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This is what gets me about letting Lin go. We could have gotten something for him. I just think they didn't want him on the team.
