I can't see how we'll end up with Ellis, and I know this is a minority opinion, but I'd rather have Ellis than Bargnani. Ellis, as I've said before, is not someone to build around, and he needs intelligent coaching, and, yeah, at times he's a lightweight head case but . . . even with all of his downside, he can play defense, sometimes he can play real team ball, and he knows how to score. I'd be delighted, for example, to see him replace JR Smith.
I see some sense to the Bargnani trade and I hope it works out but for it to work, he's going to have to play better ball than he's played recently and his body has to hold up. Ellis, on the other hand, can play, today and probably tomorrow.
