Assuming GS really did want to make the trade to shed Lee's contract, or stand pat with Bargnani and save the money for summer 2015?

Chandler is a true center who plays great post defense. Even in his worst year(2012-13) he's a much much much better defender than David lee ever was.

Lee is a good rebounder and decent scorer around the basket but chandler is a better all around player than lee. Chandler won defensive player of the year and with good reason. Ill say it again, chandler on his worst day is a much Better defensive player than David lee. Much better. Lee is worse than stat on the defensive end and that's saying something. Lee is a solid player but lets be real.

I have always loved DLee's game, and I think if we had his rebounding last year we probably get past Indy (who knows about Miami). I think he's a better player than Bargs, but Bargs brings a different dimension to this roster. Depends on what else we can do in the offseason.

I think this board has seriously started to undervalue Chandler and overvale JR and Shumpert. One bad playoff series doesn't make Chandler a bad palyer. He is a real center that plays real defense and those are extremelt rare in the NBA. I want nohing to do with Lee especially for Chandler. Bargs for Lee - I would do but only if we keep Kmart and Chandler for defense. The MElo lovers continuously diss Chandler to build their agenda and deflect the blame and its getting kinda old.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I am a certified MElo Lover, and I approve this message. For the record, I spend most of my time agenda building around JKidd's 0 for 3 months and our SMOTY choking after throwing an elbow. I wouldn't trade a bag of Marble's used vaseline jars for NoDeeLee. Let's wait until his 40th birthday, and then bring him back for one season on the cheap, Camby style.

martin, please consider locking this thread, and someone please re-start the "What do we do to get Jamal Crawful back in the fold?" thread.

Bargs can play next to either STAT or Tyson with ease. D Lee is a good player, but he doesn't really stretch the floor and he doesn't defend the basket, so I don't see him really being a big plus to this team.

Thing that throws up a red flag for me is that DLee despite putting up big stats, and being a good guy and a hard worker, is really disliked by Warriors fans- they've been wanting to trade him for years.

didn't value Lee when he was here but, he goes to another team and now guys like him. How typical.

I like Lee but, I don' think that would be a good idea. Bargs is a unique player and if we can get him to fully commit to the game and team, we are better off with him.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Hey man, I honestly feel in my bones that D-Lee is a better player than either Bargs or Chandler...Having said that, after thinking about if for a little while, maybe we can make this work. Maybe collectively Chandler, Bargnani and Melo complement each other better than I first thought -- maybe it does make some sense. Mix in STAT for 25 mins or so off the bench at the 4/5, maybe 1 more big man that can rebound and patrol the interior (while adding a little scoring too -- Jamelle Hagins would be PERFECT; Jordan Williams is another possibility...Jerome Jordan, Marcus Cousin?), hopefully CJ Leslie with his high-wire act behind Melo at the 3 if he pans out (this kid looks a hell of a lot further along skill-wise than he's being given credit for), etc.. Maybe we finally will have enough frontcourt firepower to compete at a high level.

I mean when you think about it -- Dallas' starting frontcourt that beat the Heat in the Finals a couple of years ago was Chandler, Nowitzki and Marion.....Chandler, Bargnani and Melo is pretty damn similar...Chandler's the constant on both teams; Bargs plays a similar role to Dirk (Dirk's better) and Marion and Melo are similar (Melo's better).

You are right, the comparison is definitely similar.

Thus far in their careers, Lee is a thousand times the player Bargs is but I wouldn't take him since he ruins our salary cap room in 2015
