im not sure they can beat the HEAT...lol...but yes theyve improved. I just dont trust any team lead by deron
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

anyone that doesn't appreciate and see what the nets did are totally blinded by hate.

unlike so many teams, they actually did go all in. they are a viable championship threat.

old? kg + pierce are born leaders and no longer have to carry the load each night.

kg's intensity will make everyone better - he got the celtics support players to play above and beyond their abilities. they have 2 quality bench guys. the team is scary.

this is what starphucking is all about.

nothing is guaranteed but if you are going to be a baller, you have to make baller moves.

this is the blueprint and what dolan has wanted to do since he bought the team.

last year was the knicks year. now they have no shot to even advance in the 1st round.

Spurs dominated the season and took the Heat all the way to game 7 and were within a field goal or a stop from beating them. I give the Nets the same odds of the Spurs at beating the Heat.

The Knicks caught the East at a very good time last year with key injuries to Rondo, Rose and Granger.

We spent years rebuilding a team into an old past it's prime team without a window. We have no youth and may lose JR Smith in free agency. We don't have any depth in our front court or a the guard position. One playoff series win was worth all that rebuilding. This team is a first round loser and a likely 5 seed.

We barely beat the Celtics last year and now the Nets addressed their two biggest weaknesses. They will also get someone good on a vet deal. Perhaps someone like Billups.

Anyone bringing up late first round selections is really stretching. Every team seems to make the right moves, unlike the Knicks.

Dudes are overreacting to this lol.

Wasn't the LA Lakers supposed to dethrone the Heat last year with the big 4 LOLOL? The Bulls with a healthy Rose and the Pacers with a healthy Granger are still better, let alone the Heat. Maybe if they had replaced Deron with Rondo, I'd give you that, but you still have the worst overpaid backcourt in the NBA in Marbury 2.0 and ISO Joe. Also, isn't Broke Lopez foot broke again?

You just can't slap together some team and hope to dethrone the Heat. Heat's core been playing together for 3 seasons now and 3 straight NBA Finals with back to back rings. I could see maybe the Nets move up to 3 or 4 seed and possible division title over the Knicks, but KG(37) and Pierce(35) are now the it guys that'll beat the Heat?

My ass LOL.

come on briggs, lets not start going nuts here.. LOL.. the nets look good on paper but lets see some games before we start saying they can beat the heat, heck, lets see if they can handle the pacers who should be healthy and even better.. but I do agree, garnett and pierce makes them so much better... jeez.. This is how you go in win now mode the correct way..

Losing three picks? On paper sounds bad but I don't know if they might have other picks. Could be they can make trades to get others?

I Doubt a knicks site will be objective on the Nets. Thing about Pierce and Garnett is their Salaries will come off the books and that creates space. Space and players can be used to get picks and players down the road.

I think they have some trades to still make and could be some of their Euro collection could be moved.

Don't fret about the knicks, this was not their draft to make waves.

Also proko wants a ring, this team gives him a legit shot on paper.. if they win a ring, to hell with the picks....LOL

Stop it. Indiana is better than Bklyn's new team and got beat by the Heat.

What other "failed" Starphuchs did or did not do in the past really don't equate.

I thought the knicks exceeded their ceiling in the regular season and thus the expectations for the playoffs is what made it disappointing.

The draft picks Nets gave up might hurt down the road, but basically they traded Wallace, Brooks and Evans for Pierce and Garnett and those two are role players.

Im almost to assume they don't keep Blatch but if they do its potent beyond.

Nets will have a luxury tax of 80million.

I repeat, 80 million!!!!!!

Not to worry, Prokhorov has made about a half a billion at least on the team since he bought it.

Its a very Dolan-Esque type trade.

They all in now.

How come nobody is talking about their bench?

How many Ray Allens and Mike Millers are left to take a pay cut and play with them?

I think their lack of a bench will lead to more minutes and injuries for the starters!

This is going to be a dangerous squad, if healthy. Plenty of scoring to pick up the slack for when KG and Pierce have their senior moments. If Kidd can get them all on the same page they could shut the door on the Knicks window, as this team is currently constructed.

The big if is team chemistry, defense, and Deron Williams keeping everyone happy.

I think they will be ok. The Nets are in Brooklyn now and they have to be considered contenders. Guys that have to sign for the vet mini will definitely take a long look at the Nets as a destination in my opinion.

Big difference. The core players the Knicks acquired (Melo, Chandler, Stat), were supposed to be in the prime of their careers.

The Nyets are getting PP and KG in the twilight of their careers, sorta like Karl Malone and Gary Payton playing with the Kobe and Shaq Lakers to get that ring before retiring.

It could work...circa 2007 LOL.

Sorry, you guys are still haters.

Nothing about this is Dolanesque.

They bring in two veteran players that sacrifice for their team and are great leaders. Knicks usually brought in a fading star with serious character issues that don't play within a team concept.

Did you see Garnett in the playoffs 13pts 14rbs. they just need to keep both their minutes down and grab some low cost roll players like they did with evans. They are a better team than we are and luxury tax means nothing.

We are locked in to novak, camby, amare, tyson and can't really gain any value back. We need Hardaway to really contribute along with Shumpert to stay competitive in the east.

I think Pierce off the bench in the role Ginobli has played with SAS

KG limited minutes at the PF and back up center.

I want to know is Blatch is still on the team?

Bench? Is Tayshawn Taylor ready for back up duty? They have three Euros. The Bogonovitch (SPELLING) is highly thought of.

IM thinking he could start?

What is the net effect of BroPez playing along side KG?

Crunch time:

Deron
JJ
Pierce
KG
BroPez.

Long way until Tip off time to figure out the roster.

The Nets better hope they beat the heat otherwise this might have a chance to be worse than the eddy curry deal. They gave up 3 first round picks and by that time garnett and pierce will eb retired. Lopez DWill and JJ all ahve serious injury issues as well

I had to laugh at this. KG and PP have one foot into retirement....Now they're all the sudden going to beat the Heat?

Laughable.

Our team had like 7 feet in retirement and that's what we were saying. IJS!!!
