Jr was our 2nd best player and 2nd most reliable player by far. Who are we supposed to replace him with if we let him walk?

in the regular season yes but in the playoffs he was awful i mean toney douglas awful

All the dudes who have been rooting for the Knicks to lose all season can't wait to see the NBA's sixth man of the year go...I guess if I wanted to Knicks to lose as well I would be in the same camp...

who are you... houdini? i never root for my team to lose. i just knew the team would not achieve what it should have... emphasis on "should." he is not a winner.

CASE CLOSED

If u thought this team didn't achieve what they should have, why did you have them finishing between 3rd and 7th seed???..A little revisionist history..A little shift of the goal post once they started winning???..When the Knicks were beating Boston, all of you, the anit-Knick crew disappeared..You didn't post...Same dudes that came alive again after the Indy series...

You're right. Just because we don't love Stephony Marbury, James Dolan and Isiah Thomas, we're rooting for the Knicks to lose. Oh wait, wrong Knicks Era. But deja vu all over again with your posts.

I'm nobody and everybody at the same time. But more importantly, I'm someone who wont put up with BS when I read it. I don't care about Gallinari so I have no idea why you're even mentioning it. I guess it's because you're attempting to prove someone else wrong when you were just called out for your own buffoonery. You've been wrong countless times and, unsurprisingly, you're wrong again now.

Stephon Marbury has a shrine in China he wants you to visit. Make sure you take some pictures for us.

I have never been a JR fan however i thought he got his life together during most of the year UNTIL the playoffs where he flushed all the goodwill he gained from fans down the toilet

Knicks was 2nd seed this year in the East and won 54 games after dumping MDA and Donnie..I'll say we are right on track with Melo and the new crew...Who was wrong about the trade again????...It the signing of Amare by Donnie and getting MDA his guy that is holding us back...We will fight thru it tho...

You make a lot of sense. The Knicks are doomed with or without JR. I think the plan going forward is how do the Knicks create another window of opportunity. This year was the only shot with old foggies and now that window is closed. I don't really think they had a chance at any Champioship. Right now the Knicks are a Playoff team if people are happy with that stay status quo and wait out the LeBron years. It's time to build a team for the future 4-5 years down the line.

he is a self-destructive CLOWN. his deeds speak for themselves.

words? okay they finished 2nd in the conference for the regular season but were beaten-- soundly-- by the 3rd seed.

do you know what that makes the knicks ultimately, "ultimately" as in "the real season"?

a team that is in reality somewhere between the 3rd and 7th ranked team in the conference.

you got anything else?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Agree totally. After that debacle in the playoffs, ****, forget this guy. He disappeared in the playoffs last year too if you remember....That's TWO years in a row now this guy has pulled a disappearing act in the playoffs when we needed him most...And during the regular season he's a ultra low % freelancer that's given way too much freedom in this offense. Yeah he's talented, year he's in his prime -- I get all that. But he's unreliable, bottom line. And just think, if we want him back we'll have to sign his brother Chris to a deal too to appease him?!? No thanks man. Go get me any 2 of these 4: Jermaine Taylor, Chris-Douglas Roberts, Jamelle Horne, Gerardo Sureo -- and we more than make up for JR Smith's offense, size, athleticism, shooting, you name it. We'd also get younger, conserve money and keep that Chris Smith roster spot open for a much better player. No brainer for me to let him walk..

those players are absolute trash.

Lol. No idea where you're coming from. Do you care to elaborate? These 4 are great value imo.

Jermaine Taylor is just as good a talent as Marcus Thornton in my eyes. Maybe better. He just needs to get his opportunity. Late arrival to the D-League this year but when he got there he ripped it up. Looked like he belonged in the NBA to me in Houston & Sacramento.

CDR has very good size for a 2 and is so crafty with the ball it's not even funny. Dude can score the ball on anyone. Blew up the DL this season before getting called up to Dallas. He was good for the Nets and solid in Milwaukee.

Jamelle Horne was a very athletic, very good role player for Arizona going back a couple of years ago. 40% 3-pt shooter with a quick release, can get to the basket, hit the offensive glass & defend.

And this Gerardo Suero looks real intriguing. 6'4"-ish, athletic, supreme slasher that can get to the line and knock down his FTs. Went to the line 265 times his only year at Albany in 2011-12.. That's a phenomenal number for a college freshman. Very aggressive style -- relentless going to the cup. Won't be denied type of attitude. Always in attack mode..He kinda reminds me of a mini Latrell Sprewell...Dude can knock down 3s too.

lol @ the Knicks winning 54 games because they got rid of Walsh. What an awful post. Really, truly awful.

I'm not going to let you change the subject, though. You have been wrong on nearly everything you have ever said, specifically rooting for awful, cancerous players like Stephon Marbury, Eddy Curry, Jamal Crawford and everyone under the Isiah Thomas regime. In fact, you still root for them now. You apologize for Dolan despite a decade of awful basketball. You're wrong and you've been wrong all the time. Stop trying to right that point. You wouldn't know basketball if it hit you in the face. You come on here talking all this talk and acting like a know it all when your track record is awful. Stop trying to act like you know what's going on because you don't.

And no, Amare Stoudemire is not holding the team back from anything. Mike Woodson and Glen Grunwald, the mediocre coach and GM combo Dolan has given us via Isiah, is holding us back. I don't think I need to repeat why. Woodson's playoff track record speaks for itself and Grunwald is a mediocre GM who gives out terrible contracts to overachievers like Chandler and Novak, as well as guys like Alvin Williams and Antonio Davis in Toronto. Once again, you're wrong. Get used to it.

U want a guy being paid 2 mil a year to pick up the slack for a guy making 20 mil per, who by the way u admittedly still want to build this franchise around..He hasn't given us anything in 2 1/2 years..JR was a gift that fell into our laps..If u care about winning which I doubt, JR might the the best and only option this offseason..But again, we know u are on your knees praying for Melo to fail so why bother...

Bro Im guilty of rooting for all Knick players...I just don't try to over project the upside of mediocre guys like Gsllo..Can't root for a coach that doesn't emphasis defense ...He was bad hire and I said it from day one..My guess is who ever u are, MDA was your guy...Woodson went 18-6 after MDA left..So if he is so terrible, what does that say about the cat u were pulling for?.

MDA was never my guy so your guess is wrong. What a surprise that you're wrong again.

Why are you talking about 18-6 from 2 years ago? lol. Why do any of these W/L matter when you know the man's playoff performance. If a pitcher is 20-5 with a 4.50 ERA does he win the Cy Young because he has 20 wins? Sports are about winning in the playoffs. So far this man hasn't done that. If he doesn't do it again this coming season he should be fired. Plain and simple.

I see things objectively and I post from facts and not what fits my agenda. That's what makes me different than you. Oh and I'm also not always wrong like you. That's another thing.

Your guilty of rooting for the WRONG players and management and coaches and then insulting people who don't root for the same people you do. So no, bro, it's not as clear cut as you think.

If u were so objective your wouldn't have to change your handle ...If u consider pointing out where u are wrong an insult then Im guilty..U don't have to root for the guys I root for, I have always liked a healthy debate...Just man up when u are wrong and stop hiding behind new names to hide past deeds...What's funny is that all the guys who come back under new names that lost their cool when Gallo was traded, miraculously none of the new names like Gallo..Yet all are trying to call me out...I liked Isiah and Marbs..Not afraid of my past...

Nothing you said addressed anything I said. More smokescreens to distract from the fact that you're almost never right on anything yet act like you are. Then you tell me to man up. That's rich.

You keep talking about Gallinari and Mike D'Antoni as if I give a damn. I don't know who you think I am but you're failing hard. I don't care about people who aren't here anymore. I care about the people in this organization presently.

Worry less about me and more about yourself and the way you 'debate' with others.

Everyone knows who I am. I never changed my handle. You can ask around or simply read my posts and you'll know. I like feta and gyros. I like spinach pie. Kosta Papanikolaou would be my favorite player on the team if he ever played here. That's a big enough hint.

But in classic holfresh fashion you're making it about me and not you. Trying to deflect from yourself again. I wont let that happen here. You're the one that needs to man up and admit you're almost always wrong and stop insulting or "calling out" people. The nerve of someone like you to "call out" anyone...LOL.

Some do spend more time bringing players who no longer play here instead of focussing more on the Name of The Front Of The Jersey here.
