I've seen Melo in person and you'd be shocked at how thin he really is. The undergarment he wears makes him look bigger than he actually is....

Did you see him a year ago when he said he was 6'8" 251?
Right now, he's not heavy but it's clear he's not in the shape that Lebron or Wade is in.

I take it as the other parts of his game that are SO PURE are declining....

Yeah, pudgy for a regular guy and pudgy for an nba athlete are two different things,I'm saying people are talking about him like he's some fat slob that can't run a mile. He's in very good shape, he's just not the physical specimen Lebron, Dwight Howard, and Wade are. Melo has lost explosiveness with age, but it's hardly a weight problem.

he's not a fat slob but he is not devoted to getting into supreme shape which is one of the things he actually has control over. he may not be as naturally lean as other players but that is NO excuse for him being 15-20 pounds heavier than he needs to be. and i don't want to hear any foolishness about him "losing strength" (which has to do with playing offense not defense) if he gets lighter either-- at 6'7"-6'8" in stocking feet he needs to be able to defend perimeter players much better than he has shown. his lateral quickness and his ability to fight over picks leaves a lot to be desired.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

SO how much did he exactly weigh when you pt him on the scale and what was his Body fat%? Oh that's right you are just assuming without backing it up with anything.

The guy is not fat or pudgy except around the face. Did he balloon after sitting out with a groin injury yes.

Thanks for reposting this. There was a lot of speculation about this the other night versus his wearing body armour. The guy is obviously cut. As holfresh pointed out, how do you win player of the month in two consecutive Aprils if you are breaking down because you are fat and out of shape.

The pic was last year sometime. The problem is not him being out of shape the problem is he can't play at a high level when injured. Also, I though he lost explosiveness too until he came back from the knee drain and was dunking everything.

I remember we used to do this when EY Curry was here. In the pic above Melo looks like as the season drug on he may have picked up a couple extra lbs compared to his pre-season form....

lol @ all his Body Amor...looks as if he's preparing for a Sparta War...

Again, how can you tell with all the armor he's wearing under the uni....With the exception of a round face, its hard to tell if he's put on weight...

ROFL at this thread. Melo shoots personal record three points shots, what is this sign of? Uh, playing within an offense that broke the record for most 3's taken and made in a season.

Back to Melo is out of shape?
