I wouldn't want to play this guy at the 3 spot but should we consider giving up Iman and filler for Andre Igoudala? Something like that might have legs since Denver seems adverse to adding big dollar contracts/personnel (see the Karl firing and the letting go of Masai Ujiri).

They will likely over pay for A.I. yhe president has made it his goal to bring him back. The plan before the season was to play Melo at the 3 and that's probably what he will play next year.

I think Kenyon and Melo play really well together. If the Knicks had a pick and pop big to play with those guys it would be a tough frontcourt to stop.

Kenyon is a good back up but I wouldnt want the bulk of the minutes going to him

I was thinking Josh Smith 2. A lot of these guys get over 10 a year. Knicks better off getting 2 guys like that instead of 1 max player

Besides star talent Melo needs a 3 or 4 next to him that can stretch the floor and defend.

And/or a PG who can control the tempo a little better and spot up at the 3.

I actually wouldn't mind him coming back because he and Melo should fit in well with each other. He could very well become available given the changeup in the Nuggets power-structure. I don't think Gallo's injury history and the fact that he is overpaid will endear him to the new management. These concerns are compounded by a roster that has similarly talented players at Gallo's position, who are also cheaper.

This would be too funny. If only the Nuggs would throw in Wilson and Moz.

Then all we would need is a 3rd string PG named...Lin!

The Perfect Forward to compliment Melo would be a stretch 4 that could rebound also.

Basically Kevin Love or Ryan Anderson.

Anderson is a name that ive seen mentioned on these forums since Melo was acquired.

Its too bad Copeland wasn't a better rebounder, he would be the guy. As of right now, he has a chance next season to be a great compliment to Melo regardless.

Do you think the Bulls try to move him with the emergence of Butler? Deng is really good. I don't know if the Knicks have enough to trade.

I personally can't see it. The guy is too good and too central to their plans for them to trade him without serious value coming back. He would definitely fit in well with Melo though.

Rumors coming out of Chicago is that they want to move Deng due to the emergence of Butler.

I like that pairing on the offensive end and I tend to think Muscala will be sound defensively at the PF position but Melo really doesn't do a good job chasing or getting out on good shooting agile SFs. Melo is better defensively at the PF spot.

That is one of the problems with playing a normal (traditional) line-up with Melo --- he doesn't guard the SF position well.

The correct answer to the question is Kevin Love.

U need a guy who can Guard 3's and 4's. This is part of the argument that I agree with the Anti Melo crew. You basically have to alter your team finding specific pieces to make it work. He isnt a guy you can plug into a lineup and have it work smoothly.

I think a guy like Love or Pau Gasol would work. THe player just needs to be able to operate in the high post out.

But Butler and Deng can play together, so why break them up? I guess the team's payroll is a concern with 4 guys making close to max but I can't see any other motivation for getting rid of him.

When the trade was made for Melo many posters said it would be easy to find replacements for players like Chandler and Gallo. We've yet to replace them 3yrs later. Now we're discussing acquiring players who'll do all the things our $20mil Superstar won't do, to help make him a better player.
