If Nate is good he will impress in workouts against other guards in his class. I haven't heard any reports of that happening.

I think they said Nate did very well against all of the other PGs at the combine.

I like Nate Wolters too. He's got that sneaky game. You don't think he's quick enough but what he does is play with a high pace and change speeds, hesitations and he has great handles so he can get wherever he wants to go. Then you mix in good overall skills and PG instincts and he should be a solid pro. I like big PG's that play big and can see the floor and shoot over smaller PG's.

Some people really like him. I'm not 1 of them at least for the Knicks roster.

That is a legitimate question--for the Knicks roster. I like Nate a tad more than I like Eric Green but I think Green may fit this roster better. I still think they are both radically undervalued in this draft. I also like Muscala where we are drafting--if he agrees to put on 12-15 hard pds--he could be a really really good PF for 10-15 years--I mean the kind of guy who can be a 20-10 player. Hes got to put on those 15 hard pds--but he has the skills to be a 20-10 player imho. Having a 6-11 245 skilled PF is very very attractive both for short and long term. Is there a way we can sneak Green/Wolters and Muscala on to this roster? Id be very willing to spend this years 3mm on that initiative.

Ill also say drafting(or not drafting) a player because of *fit* can be a disaster. I think you take the BPA for your team--you cna weigh the decisions of fit style of player readiness etc... but you don't want to take an inferior player just to fit one year. I can think of a lot of things worse we can do than getting a high charahcter 6-5 PG who handles the ball wonderfully with great vision who can shoot score rebound and really pass it. He has all of the skills--if he could jump 38 inches hed be the first pick in the draft.

Briggs the Wages of Wins site agrees with you:

http://wagesofwins.com/2013/05/28/ranking-the-top-11-ncaa-prospects-at-each-position/

Top rated PG based on Wp40 is Nate Wolters. Erick Green also rated highly. Muscala top ranked Center!

If both you and advanced stats agree, that pretty much rules out the Knicks picking them though.

Rose is not the answer.

I dont see us keeping Prigioni either. Hes a limited player who will be 36 or 37? Plus we would likley have to dip into the mLE and we cant do that for Prigioni.

the offense ran better under Prigs than any of our other guards so, I say he's a keeper

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Tinsley is slower than Prigs at this point.

Would love Bayless (5m MLE) or Nate Robinson (3m MLE) for the MLE
We needed speed/quickness/handle for penetration and DEFENSE and they both can provide that with sufficient facilitating abilities and a 3pt shot
Like Jarret Jack (5m MLE) as well even though he isn't young either but he is a legit PG/SG/SF

For vet min players and lower salaries like the 2m BI ANNUAL EXEMPTION maybe even splitting 5m MLE on 2 players if we can trade Chandler for salary cap relief with trade exemption and 2nd round picks (draft some PG's that will fall)

2m
==========
Randy Foye
Gary Neal
Aaron Brooks

Vet min
===========
Will Bynum
AJ Price

Brian Roberts *2nd year player on rookie deal in New Orleans*
Jannero Pargo
Patty Mills
Livingston
Mike James

Hope we can add Rasheed Wallace and Jason Kidd on our coaching staff and would even add Brian Shaw at a high salary as we need new voices for this team

For the draft someone would likely drop to the 2nd round, if we look to trade for...

Pierre Jackson
Nate Wolters
Eric Green

Archie Goodwin
Ray McCallum

Lorenzo Brown *think he is comparable to Livingston without the knee concerns but Livingston has but could be available for the vet min*

While Larkin and Scrhodder are unlikely to drop to us at 24

You have definitely convinced me about Wolters being a nice pick.

Also like RonRon's mention of Jarrett Jack bc he would be a nice Vet PG for this group, but he is gonna command a good amount of $ that we just don't have.

If the Knicks can get a second round pick and go big in round 1 of the draft I would love to see them draft Peyton Siva. I think he is going to be a very good player and has a lot of character.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Hyperbole aside, some of us are concerned that Prigs wouldn't last an entire season as starting PG. And there is his aversion to taking it to the rim even when he has a clear path. This season he wasn't a known commodity, but next year other teams are going to make adjustments. If he can make a few layups now and then to keep the D honest then that would be different.

Prigioni helped save the season and get us that higher seed so I doubt anyone here seriously hates him. If they do then they aren't worth the ink, so to speak.
