I'd have to say Dallas they were the only team that could have made the playoffs had Dirk been there the whole season.

melo would have held it down better than OJ mayo for sure.

These posts you keep talking about are nuts. Carmelo is one of a few game changing players in the NBA. Ill be the first one to say it wouldve benefited
ed him and the Knicks if he remained patient and let us keep our assets--he traded the help he needed--but to say Carmelo Anthony is not a top player is absurd. Youre the same poster who says Monta Ellis is game changer Ellis has never even been on one winning team Melo has been on some really good teams If you want to say Melos own personal greed is a problem then yes. His play 1 of only a few on the planet

top player? you don't need to be a top player to make it to the conference finals-- unless you consider paul george and roy hibbert top players. and while we're at it are parker, duncan, ginobili top players?

nobody has any of these players in the top 5 in the league or labels them "game changers." maybe parker was rated top-5 this season?

duncan is an all-nba first team-- as a center. he plays the game the right way
parker is a second team all-nba. plays the game the right way
paul george is 3rd team all-nba. plays the game the right way

ginobili plays the game the right way.
hibbert plays the game the right way.

what you need are a couple of top 20 players who play the game the right way. most don't demand max money either.

how is melo a game changer or a top player if he doesn't play the game the right way, the way that helps teams rather than hinders them?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Carmelo is game changing player--no doubt. Was his personal greed a problem--yes. But his game is not nor is the fact that we paid Amare to be a 20-10 player and he no longer can. We paid Tyson 14 and he doesnt show up in the playoffs. Thats not Carmelos fault.

you state he's a game changing player-- i am wondering how he is game changing?

no melo culpability?

seems like the playoff failure is because of stats absence and tyson being outplayed by hibbert?

What does "game-changer" mean? Are you saying he brings lots of wins? That he changes (reduces) the number of touches his teammates get?

Trade means a depleted roster who would have to forfet some value to "trade", so its too vague to answer.

AND REALLY that is whats it's all about.. playing the game the right way. I am so tired of hearing carmelo is a game changer.. what game has he changed? what series? this guy gets so many accolades from from knicks fans and excuses all at the same time....it is really unprecedented..

Carmelo is a 30 pt scorer in the nBA--one of very few who can achieve it. What it does is makes opposing teams put tremendous focus on one player. We didnt win 54 games this year by osmosis or any secondary player--while guys had good seasons and then great points within the season--Carmelo Anthony is the main cog on this team. We played a team that is in game 7 ecf very very tough. It was not caremlos fault we faltered. This is a dumb arguement I didnt like the carmelo trade either given he couldve come for nothing but at the end of the day melo is a game changer for a franchise its up to the team to fill it out the right way. There are only 1 tim duncans 1 lebron james 1 k durants there is not a lot of these players. You couldve said the same thing about Paul Pierce until the team got Rondo KG and Allen. Than Pierce is a winner after being on 8 20 win teams? Hes still a great player just like Melo.

So "game changer" means "very high scorer on a .600 regular season team"? You still won't say won't you mean by the term.

he never averaged 30ppg briggs.. so stop it...

can't have it both ways briggs.. he can't be the main reason why we won 54 games, yet take the least blame for the playoff fizzle as he didn't have a good playoffs at all..

Don't you see a big problem with this type of logic when it comes to defending carmelo briggs?

You couldve said the same thing about Paul Pierce until the team got Rondo KG and Allen. Than Pierce is a winner after being on 8 20 win teams? Hes still a great player just like Melo.

what does pierce have to do with this.. Pierce is a champion and MVP finals.. the celts didn't gut the team to get pierce.. so what is your point here?
