If we have $$$$ on July 1 we can simply swap cash for a drafted pick. Someone drafts a player--say OKC at 29 and then trades us the pick for cash and a future 2 on JUly 1.

2nd rounders aren't worth a lick, and this draft is relatively weak, no issue there.

besides he got one back for next year for ronnie brewer who didn't even play for the thunder either.

Thats what stupid teams think. The Spurs top 10 consists of 7 players picked between 28 and 45. The Heat have two 2nd rounders who start in the top 5.

so just to confirm, if the knicks want to draft a 2nd rd pick, they would have to pay $$$...from what i understand, that would only be AFTER July 1st. My question is how MUCH $$$? and do we have it??
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

using the Spurs to justify the second round? they evaluate talent period, they bring undrafted players as well.

We will have 3 million and the going rate for a 2nd round pick will vary from year to year but i think 500k to 1.5 mil is a reasonable range to expect.

Thank god, you are in no capacity affiliated to any team.
a second rounder can be as good as a first rounder if not better.
marc gasol, trevor ariza, luis scola, rashrd lewis(has great yrs in seattle), monta ellis, gilbert arenas, boozer, gortat, millsap,

and if you wanna go further back........dennis rodman

the point is you can acquire talent and i wouldn't be losing sleep over a second round pick that is easily attainable.

Teams flip 2nd rounders like water, it's the evaluation of talent that matters.

I wouldn't buy a pick just 2buy a pick. I'm sure the knicks have an outline of who they want or don't want. The knicks have a lot of open roster spots and a need for young legs all over the place. This draft has some depth. It's much better than last year

Muscala and Glen Rice JR. That's what we should target. Resign Copeland and add Jarret Jack.

I think we need a PG as well. My bet is that we look at Eric Green at 24. I do not think the Knicks will be interested in Wolters--a darkhorse who already worked out for them is Canaan--he looks like a version of Tim Hardaway sr and he might have the best 3 pt shot in the draft

Seriously I would take a player as good as Ariza again for free. U can find rotation player and in some cases borderline All Stars. The more good players u have the better. If u can get a player without giving assets back do it.
