Morally corrupt lowlife? What did he do?

he was permanently banned from the league but later reinstated for using a banned substance. it was so bad he was out for two years.

That makes him stupid, not a morally corrupt lowlife.

It makes him mentally ill, not of low intelligence and now morally corrupt IMO.

he cheated, like sosa, mcgwire, bonds, clemens, marion jones, lance armstrong.

cheaters are morally corrupt.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Those people were linked to PEDs. Andersen was suspended for the other kind of drugs. It's wrong but if he over came his demons then why continue to judge him.

I thought he got caught with weed in the system. I don't think it was PED's.

It was one of: Cocaine, PCP, LSD, or Methamphetamine. That's the list of drugs that can get you banned from the NBA that they tested for at the time he was banned. The rumor was it was LSD.

Regardless, how this makes him a cheater when it's not a performance enhancing drug makes no sense. He has a history of poor judgment, but he's a good fit the Miami team who needed someone up front.

As far as him helping us, I think it would be a marginal help. I don't think he's a starting quality player on every team in the league; but on certain teams he can have a significant impact. I'm not sure the Knicks are one of them if we're talking about getting past an Indiana type of team.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The moral question was everything mentioned plus:

http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_22352391/chris-andersens-attorney-says-legal-case-not-connected

Until that situation was clarified it appeared nobody wanted to sign him. Logical.

Was he even available to the knicks? Was NY even his preference? Was Miami his first choice all along?

Seems like a great fit and the results are staggering since he joined them. SOmetimes its a small piece that just sets the chemistry/Rotation right. On knicks, it might not have been so.

plus the child porn thing was apparently an extortion attempt; he wasn't charged with anything.

he def has his quirks but he seems to be guilty of poor judgement more than anything else. i'm glad miami gave him another chance.

He's making a subtle but broader point. There has been a lot of discussion about "character" and other less tangible traits and how it should dictate how we judge talent. I think he's bottom-lining the fact that talent/skill should be the sole determinant behind who we acquire because we're strapped for resources and can't be picky.

to bring in guys like that, you have to have a stable "house" and leaders.. which is why The Bulls were able to bring in Rodman and that worked, and it is the same reason why the heat can bring in Anderson.. not sure if NY would be a place for him. We lack the leadership and even the guys who do show some leadership like tyson chandler, often lose their cool as well.. To take on these talented but weird guys, you have to make sure your house is free from any sort of dysfunction...

NY would have been great except maybe he loves attention and stroll in the villiage might not bat an eye.

Its NY, and only his height would make him stand out!
