I like charles and don't mind when he hates on us becuase we have been worth of his scorn. Homers don't get that and take it personal.Dude is never 100% correct, nor is anyone else. I don't like what he said about us not getting thru the 2nd round and the pacers being better.
Just like u take it personally when people knock Gallo or MDA or Teflon Donnie or the Nets...
Sorry, I don't rant like a 14 year old painting charles "Gay" as if to discredit him, or when Donnie is painted with "Fault". Same for misinformation about any Knick GM. Regarding Gallo, I don't defend his stats or really defend him. I am adamant that constant thinking that we'd still have the same roster as 3 years ago is silly when Moobyites rush to defend him.
Personally I think the Nyets were better on paper and had little chemistry. I think their bench was almost too deep and the rotations never got right. I thought when Amare went down at the beginning of the season the Knicks would finish behind Nyets.
Does that make me a "bad fan"? Do I have to prove my "belief" over and over to satisfy some?
Nalod don't bash knicks and I talk about other teams objectively. Its not important if a posters is right or wrong, its an opinion and we can choose to discuss it or not.
The Nyets in the last year are very interesting. The business model, marketing approach (rebranding) and roster construction is interesting to me. Does it make me a knick hating troll?
Pacers losing Granger and the 2 seed most of the season was also worth reading up on and Im really not bend out of shape we lost to them. They a good team and the type of team they are would be trouble for us.
I hate that we did lose, but no imbecilic ranting for another coaches head or blame on a GM gone two seasons is going to matter.
Why Defend Walsh?
You have Grunfeld rebuilding the team basically without ewing. Pat knowing his numbers would suffer becomes a problem for new coach Don Nelson and has him fired. Grunfeld continues youthier faster team but has the wrong coach for it. JVG keeps winning but does not adapt to new roster despite finals push and one has to go. JVG 2 year extension kicks in with trip to finals.
Patsy Layden is installed 1n 99' and the Ewing problem has manifested itself to the point he is way over paid and now a distraction. forces trade which few GM's can come out looking good with.
Laydens attempt to rebuild with Role players is miserable failure and the Garden is dying. No problem with his removal but a mid season starphuch Isiah is hired to much fanfare and we learn that constant change is really cool and fun, but change is not always an improvement.
Donnie is bought in by league request to clean it up. MDA is hired and in time the wrong roster is constructed for the coach all the while Cap Space is cultivated. This is a constant problem for the team over the years.
Nalod don't have a voice in any matters but for the few fans who come here I can only help understand my perspective which is the decisions are poorly made and the symptoms show up LATER in the form of the roster or the coach. Often both.
Knicks defied a ton of logic this year and all the while Nalod said Woodson was coaching this team "above its head" which is to say he did a great job getting 54 wins out of it. This was my hope that it would continue but expectation was low so Im not a bitter gay bashing fan looking to lablel Charles over his mostly correct statements over the last 10 years, or rant how we are phuched, heads should roll, and idiotic Amare/chandler trades.
The fact he said the nets would be better does not discredit him because he is mostly a talking head and spews lots of thingsright and wrong. In the face of a 50+ winning season and a high seed he did not move from his position like many did. That adds credibility to some respects.
