Aww..first he creates threads about Dwight Howard to take shots at MDA then he claims relevance to the topic. Saweeet.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Melo $23.5mm
Amare $23.5mm
Chandler $15mm
Camby $4mm
Kidd $3mm

all expire in two years

only guys signed beyond that are
Novak $3.7mm
Shump $3.8mm (QO)
Felton $4.5 (PO)

In only two years we will be looking at massive cap space. I think the overall plan to get two star players in here is a good one. The problem is Amare is broken and Melo isnt a build around guy.

So whats the plan?

I agree with your thoughts except saying you can't build around Melo is not accurate, but that is a different topic. I feel like we are set up well to add a true max FA next to Melo in 2015 and build this team like celtics did around Pierce. Hopefully Shumpert can also develop.

Walsh had a plan and it almost worked? What almost worked? Getting injury prone players to last half a season?

Well, Plan B was to stick it to you know who.. left the incurable Knicks and joined Pacers for the exact same position and hope his team can beat the crap out of ours in the playoffs... well done Walsh, well done.

A few ways u go about this and it all depends on whether u feel Melo is good enough to be 1 of those stars for at least the next 5 years. Either u let those contracts expire and go from there or u trade everything u can right now for draft picks and deals that expire within that 2 year time frame. Get as many young cheap pieces as possible in here and let them play for 2 seasons so when the cap space opens up u have established role players to play with your stars. Im hoping Chris Paul reups short term and comes here in 2 seasons as a FA.If u keep Chandler maybe he is still useful at that point "doubtful" but as a much cheaper price. The key here is not to blow your wads of cash on players that are fringe stars. I think Melo is definitely good enough right now to be paired with another great player and compete for a title. It has to be the right player though and there arent a whole lot of them in the NBA.

Yeah, it would've worked brilliantly. Imagine, we kept that line up, then this coming year, we'd be sooo under the cap and you know the team will pay big money for an upcoming super star, or two. But that just didn't happen. Just pray we get lucky and get some good picks in the next 5 years and hopefully we'll be a contender in 5 years
