At the end of the day Grunwald's moves were not all that great, kidd sputtered out, camby was a dud, rasheed played for 4 wks, prigs got little until felt got hurt, white was a prcatice guy making $800,000, tyson has been a major flop in the playoffs.

At the end of the day Grunwalds accomplishments was prigs and Kmart, Allan Houston and woodson had more to do with Copeland landing here.

- were over the cap so we only have the 3MLE to sign a FA
- about 5 players are leaving
- say what you want about JR, but he averaged 18ppg and will leave
- Tyson and amare are damaged goods
- cope will leave for more money
- Rondo, Granger and DRose return to the east and lets not forget miami

please excuse me for feeling so gloomy but i think i have some objective reasons to be

I think you will be very surprised at the knicks off season moves. It looks bad now, but everybody knows are weaknesses by now. It will make it that much easier to add the right pieces.

This is right. We will see moves and improvements. Most people felt the same last offseason and said the same things. Look how much we improved.

Who did we really bring in that really helped us this year? Felton, Prigioni, and Kenyon Martin who was brought in midseason. Most of the roster and the guys who got most of the minutes were players who were already here; Melo, Tyson, Shumpert, JR, and Novak were already on the team. And we also had more maneuverability because we could do sign-and-trades last Summer, this year we probably won't be able to.

Copeland, Prigioni, Felton, and Martin were all unexpected pickups that helped tremendously. Also Brewer who helped early in the season. These were all buy low players who are nba role players. We will find more of these guys.

That alone might make us good enough to again be a poor man's version of last decade's Hawks but not a title contender

In their best 2 season they got swept in the 2nd round. They never won a division title and won 53 games once. So how are we a poor mans version of them again?

Fair enough. It was a bad exaggeration. We haven't achieved much more than last decade's Hawks and I don't see how anything you cited (adding more guys like Prigioni, etc.) will change that.

I agree it is an uphill battle but a good series from JR could have been the difference. We just have to hope things fall into place at the right time. Unless you are the Heat where your talent is that much greater, it takes a lot of luck and various factors to get there anyways. I think we can do it but a lot has to go right of course.

the only hope for the Knicks is for them to land an All Star like they did with David Lee at the back of the draft and Iman Shumpert turns into Andre Iguodala

Igoudala is the comparison I believe shumpert needs to strive for as well, plus be a better shooting version. We know he will improve. Also, if we can find a player the way we did Lee or trade for an emerging young player like Bledsoe, we will be on the right track.

I'm very optimistic. The economy is improving, albeit not as fast as we'd like, and the stock market is up. I still have hope that all the countries of the world will come together to find a way to slow global warming & ensure peace & plenty for everyone.

- were 20mill over the cap, so we cant sign any big free agents
- we only have one 3mill midlevel exception (that we MIGHT use on cope)
- here are a list of players that (i think) would sign in the 3mil range

PG AJ price/jose calderon
SG gary neal/randy foye
SF martell webster/anthony tolivver/matt barnes/dorell wright
PF dante cunningham/ivan johnson/Dejuan blair
C Sam dalembert

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better
Plenty of reasons to be optimistic
