agreed.

anyway. No rebounds, no ring.

Yep. Was my signature all year. Rang (no pun intended) true, unfortunately.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

The problem is...other teams will be better next yr....including teams like the Wizards and those with cap space.....

Melo's been getting to the playoffs every yr of his career. I'm sure Denver thought they would be better each yr and advance further than the previous yr when he was there.

So they go from Lottery position 9 to Pick 3.....

Next Year just go tougher with Wizards moving up and Cleveland hitting the jackpot with Uncle Drew there....

Yes sir we are.

Screwed in what way? We are a playoff team. By your terms 26 other teams in the league are screwed right now.

they may be taking the nba purgatory view: maybe good enough to make the playoffs and not good enough to win it all. miss out on top picks. or bottom feeder, lottery dweller when there is not franchise changing talent to be had in the draft.

Some teams also get worse each year. The way you talk it's like every team should have evolved to be as good as the jordan-era bulls by now.

Yeah every team in the league gets better but us and every player improves except Melo I guess.

Even if we did have the pick you can't tank with the aged roster we have..if that was the plan we would have to tank for the next five years.

So any team that doesn't think it can win a championship should tank. That would make for some really bad basketball, with the majority of teams trying to outdo one another at losing games.

This is the all or nothing philosophy that makes zero sense around here. You do your best to be a good team because you never know what can happen. Dallas won and they weren't consider a contender until the end. If you are a playoff team, you are better off continuing to develop chemistry and upgrade where you can because you simply have a better chance to win it all then to tank.

tank -- no. everyone cant win the lottery. some years, there just isnt any franchise changing talent or at least there appears to be none.

the nba purgatory view is something you (i have heard this) hear from various fans of teams that are stuck: cant move up easily, not bad enough to fall all the way down.

It killed us that KT, Camby and Sheed couldn't play. If we had those guys I believe we win this series even with all the other issues. We needed bigs. Can't depend on Amar'e so if every other big we added can't go, then that puts too much pressure on Tyson, who may be breaking down from the workload.

Grunwald simply has to get healthy bodies in here. There have to be some bigs out there that could give this team minutes for a full season.

It's not Grunwald's fault. Those are the players Woody wants and MElo approves of. Of course how much sway Melo has on it is conjecture, but he has come out and said he like the K-Mart hiring and one other before that. If Woody continues to "coach" his style of basketball - we are screwed regardless of what Grunwald does,

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

nah there are way too many contingencies with the knicks.

will amare's knees hold up
will amare remain an utter liability on defense
will amare be able to learn how to recognize double teams on the perimeter or off of his dribble drives and find an open teammate
will anthony be able to get into shape
will anthony be more committed to playing defense
will anthony be able to recognize double teams on dribble drives and find an open teammate
will anthony improve his footwork and incorporate a stepback jumper
will anthony be able to add more moves to his baseline spin move from the off the right block
will felton develop into a true point guard so that the backcourt doesn't need prigioni or kidd all the time
will woodson have the stones to discipline anthony and stoudemire the way he gets into the grills of copeland and novak
will camby be able to give 15 quality minutes a night
will chandler discover the fountain of youth

you're dreaming if you think these contingencies can be satisfactorily addressed.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

We're not gonna tank for next year. Firing/Letting go of Donnie Walsh was the ultimate answer to rebuilding the Knicks. There is a chance we can buy another aging player or a mid level pick to try to do 'better' for next year, but that's about it. No shot on good picks, No shot on forcing old players to retire. No shot on getting decent trades. No shot on renegotiating players salary. We do, and hopefully will, still have diehard Knicks fans.

Yes, we should definitely tank. Tanking is what all professional sports teams with foresight and 19,000 people selling out a building 40 times a year think is a brilliant business move.

Because we all know that high draft picks turn out to be instantaneous tickets to chip land.

not only should they tank but dolan should be slashing ticket prices by 60% to make sure he still can fill the arena.

he owes the knick fanbase.

What prevented from retooling on the fly this year without getting scrubs?

I'll go buy some lottery tickets. Let's see who wins first... your wish or my tickets.
