Houston is done, there is no way a guy as old as him can come back from a serious injury. And when he will come back if at all he will be a shell of himself, ala Penny. Retiring would be the best case scenario for both Houston and the Knicks, as Houston will go out on a high note and not humiliate himself and the Knicks get the injury exception.

man, this is funny. thanks for the insight.

um.. buy the way, what exactly is Houston's serious injury? Was his knee reconstructed? Broked patella? He's got a bone bruise. They can take months to heal. During this time the muscles get weak from inactivity. Its just a time injury.

i dont know about that fishmike. he has been rehabbing for quite awhile going through various different approaches. You would think by now "as you said" that if he didnt have structural damage he would have improved to the point where he could produce minutes--rather he said his knee should be in a cast. He had his surgery about a year ago and it seems as if he is much worse now then at any point. you can take pain tolerance medication, but if the pain is breaking through to the point where he cant do it, it doesnt speak well at his age for the future. Im thinking about this as if i was making a decision for my business going forward. If you owned a dairy queen and your main blender kept breaking down for an entire year despite bringing it to the shop and fixing it, would you continue to put all your eggs in one basket on this machine? i think the knicks need to move on and if H2) comes back great, there is always a solid possibility he could be moved to a 6th or 7th man type role where he could still garner 25 minutes or so. but if someone here is thinks that h2O is a given for 35 a night for 80 games next 3 years, i wouldnt put a big bet on it--although the knicks sure did. this franchise needs to move forward, i think isiah will be aggressive about this situation after the season ends.

I don't have any idea about the extent of the damage to Houston's Knee... nor will I speculate...
It makes me a lil angry though to think he could have sat out this whole time from way back before the All-Star break.

I thought then as I do now..
we did not need him for the playoff run after the all-star break. It was stupid to play him if he was not 100%....

Seems the Knicks always make similar mistakes with injured players.
I hate that... Ewing, Camby, Mcdyess...
all have complained about the Knicks medical staff and how they were not left to recover for the time needed before getting put back out on the court.
I think he should be fine for next seeason..
Im still upset he played at all after the All-Star break.
