Melo can't play the 4 defensively. It's an issue when teams like Memphis and Indiana are around.

It's fine offensively if Melo's the post guy, but they need to get bigs in the Mold of Ryan Anderson/Chris Bosh/Kevin Garnett. Somebody has to be able to D bigs and be reliable enough from the outside to draw paint enforcers away from the basket.

Prigioni isn't resigning here after last game and how Woodson handled him. He will go backup Tony Parker and be with his boy or head back to Spain.

Tyson Chandler out--He hasnt worked here in the playoffs we need something different and we can get fair and reasonable compensation for him--one of our only assets to change the team. Hes also be 32 and has 13 NBA years on him.

Steve Novak--I think we should keep Copeland and trade Novak

Jason Kidd--I cant say more--hes done

Marcus Camby--done

One the fence JR Smith--at this point Im inclined to keep him for 3 years 15mm in the same role and hopefully put other scorers out there so he doesnt feel compelled to take 20 game--Id rather him avg 12 points and get the FG% up.

Kenyon Martin--I like him but I will only pay him what I can and not a dollar more because I need that mini MLE

Pablo Prigioni--Ill keep him but he has to take the 1mm or so as a back up.

Keep

Iman Shumpert--dont play him in game 5 if his knee isnt well. 6 months off he should be a rejuvinated guy.

Carmelo

Amare---My goal with Amare is to get him in the same shape he came into this year and use him as the 24 minute back up 4-5. He CANNOT play more than 24 minutes and we need to rest him like they do Duncan--as in 65-68 games played 24 minutes oer. That 14-5 in 24 minutes is big.

Felton--He played a very decent PG this year

Chris Copeland--I dont want him to exclusively play a 3 pt shooter. He can replace Novak

What we need

a post player on the starting unit who can score to give Melo more room at 4.

A young athletic transition player in the backcourt

A scoring 3 who can help Melo and take pressure of him.

Assets Pick 24 3mm in cash Mini MLE Tyson Chandler Steve Novak

+1. I agree with everything you said although I think Novak is far from an asset. The Knicks should've sign and traded both he and Lin for picks when they had the chance. Both were grossly overrated playing in D'Antoni's system. Maybe we could pawn the former to the Lakers since they are looking for shooters.

It's actually worse.

You seem to post obnoxiously towards others for no reason quite a bit.

Actually, it's just a comment in response to what seemed to be another "blow it up now" thread. While in the second round, no less.

And I thought obnoxious was the theme of most threads?

Feel better now?

Here's my somewhat realistic plan taking into account what the front office would probably be willing to do:

Staying

Melo
Amare
Felton
Shumpert
Prigioni
Novak

Going

Kurt Thomas
Sheed
James White
Quentin Richardson

Dump them if we can, otherwise they get chained to the end of the bench

Camby
Kidd

Resign JR with Early Bird rights; nobody's offering him more than $5M/year after he's spent most of the playoffs ****ting the bed.

Resign Kenyon Martin using the Non-Bird Exception for around $1.6M/year (120% of the minimum salary). I believe this is what we used to resign JR last Summer.

Attempt to trade Tyson Chandler and our 1st round pick this year to LA for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe. Tyson to Jordan is a downgrade at center but teams don't need great center play in today's NBA to succeed and this year's draft is supposed to be terrible so I'm willing to give that up to sweeten the pot; LA upgrades at center and it's been reported multiple times that Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan don't like each other so LA fixes that problem while giving up someone who can upgrade our backcourt. If that's unavailable maybe we could work something out with Denver involving Javale McGee and another piece (but definitely not for McGee by himself).

Give the MLE and anything else he asks for to Jose Calderon. I don't think he's willing to sign for that though. He's 31 years old and probably looking for one last big payday. Other possibilities for the MLE are Andray Blatche, Jarrett Jack, Kyle Korver, Mike Dunleavy Jr., and JJ Hickson.

Other players to look at for the minimum: Jermaine O'Neal, Kwame Brown, Elton Brand, and Anthony Tolliver.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come
