Here's my somewhat realistic plan taking into account what the front office would probably be willing to do:
Staying
Melo
Amare
Felton
Shumpert
Prigioni
Novak
Going
Kurt Thomas
Sheed
James White
Quentin Richardson
Dump them if we can, otherwise they get chained to the end of the bench
Camby
Kidd
Resign JR with Early Bird rights; nobody's offering him more than $5M/year after he's spent most of the playoffs ****ting the bed.
Resign Kenyon Martin using the Non-Bird Exception for around $1.6M/year (120% of the minimum salary). I believe this is what we used to resign JR last Summer.
Attempt to trade Tyson Chandler and our 1st round pick this year to LA for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe. Tyson to Jordan is a downgrade at center but teams don't need great center play in today's NBA to succeed and this year's draft is supposed to be terrible so I'm willing to give that up to sweeten the pot; LA upgrades at center and it's been reported multiple times that Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan don't like each other so LA fixes that problem while giving up someone who can upgrade our backcourt. If that's unavailable maybe we could work something out with Denver involving Javale McGee and another piece (but definitely not for McGee by himself).
Give the MLE and anything else he asks for to Jose Calderon. I don't think he's willing to sign for that though. He's 31 years old and probably looking for one last big payday. Other possibilities for the MLE are Andray Blatche, Jarrett Jack, Kyle Korver, Mike Dunleavy Jr., and JJ Hickson.
Other players to look at for the minimum: Jermaine O'Neal, Kwame Brown, Elton Brand, and Anthony Tolliver.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion
How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come
