@jrodmc...this thread is about next yr. i think everyone knows that were living in the present but some of us like to think of the following yrs. ill speak for myself, i like to play GM and think ahead. but i agree with you, BOSTON is most important..followed by the next game after that

now to the future -
1. i dont think Prigoni will stay (i ended up liking him after all and i can admit he WILL be a loss). I think we should draft a quick PG in the beverly mode. pierre jackson (baylor) and Carson (Ariz St) are two prospects that BRIGGS has mentioned that i like. Wolters will be a solid NBA player but im not sure he has the quickness to play "Beverly"-like defense (i think i just made up that term...lol)

2. weve GOT to resign JR. I think if we give him a "Lin"-like backloaded deal ($5mil next yr...up to $10 by the 4th yr), then we can keep him under the CBA rules. and yes he deserves to start now!

3. we CANT trade tyson but maybe we can trade camby and his expiring contract (it expires next yr right?). or hopefully he retire

4. Kidd will come back but i cant imagine him playing alot at his old age. would be nice to get a combo PG/SG (free Delonte WEST!!)

5. hopefully Kmart and Cope (for $3mil MLE) come back to add depth. Im a fan of dante cunningham for young defensive front court depth

6. Id keep QRich or sign DWest for

PG = Felton/West/(draft pick)
SG = JR/Kidd/QRich
SF = Shumpert/Cope
PF = Melo/KMart/D.Cunningham
C = Tyson/Amare

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Really? That would be a significant loss.

yeah, they were saying on MSG that he's not 100?% about coming back. The NBA season is much longer than he is accustomed to playing and at this stage of his life, its more time than he is used to playing away from his family.

He did say that right before he got the starting job, maybe some of it had to do with his role on the team. Knows he doesn't have much time left career wise and wants to make sure he makes the most out of the time he has left.

Dude probably just wanted to see if he can hang with with the big boys. I think he has proven that. I would not be surprised if this is his last year.

Me neither, probably won't be starting next year. I could see him staying if the Spurs gave him a call though. Would be a great fit for Pablo.

Gereld Henderson has a qualifying offer for next season, if we can trade our rights for our pick/with Camby for Henderson I am not sure if it would for this season's contract or for next
If it is part of next season, is it part of a SIGN AND TRADE which we cannot be a part of due to the new CBA?
Also, is there a possibility that he signs a Osik/Lin type or Fields like contract that hurts our ability in 2015 FA pool in addition to TAX salary problems with the contract?
Would this also lower JR's interest in resigning a deal because of fear in less opportunities in addition to getting paid less money and being an asset and shipped out at a lower deal to stay in NY

Draft picks are very valuable with the new CBA. It's cheap talent for 4 years.

I dont trade the pick for Gerald Henderson.

why do the Knicks need cheap talent versus a final piece that would push them to the finals?

I dont think Gerald Henderson is the piece to get us over the hump. Im in no hurry to overpay for talent.

I'd soon as well package the pick with Chandler and try to get some difference younger pieces. If the Clippers get eliminated again they will need to shake up that front court.

I wouldn't trade for Henderson. I would trade for Aaron Affalo or a big combo pg/sg like Evans. Not sure anyone else is out there.

What do you like in Affalo that you don't care for in Henderson?

I don't watch much of either guy but Henderson was impressive against Knicks this year.

I think a lot of moves will depend on how far we go in the playoffs.

1st rnd exit....expect major changes especially when we had a 3 -0 lead
2Nd rnd exit...prigs and jr are gone..amare will be shopped like black Friday
3rd rnd exit..minor changes...Jr stays, knicks have there redeem team
Finals loss..I think everyone stays kidd gives one last go..amare still being shopped
A finals win...minor changes...cope, camby, white are gone..

Defense and familiarity. His D may be overrated but it's better than Henderson, imo

Plenty of guards look good versus the Knicks.

I think he has serious potential to be a 20-5-4 2G and on a good team shoot 47% or better. His 3 pt shot has improved hes a long athletic 6-5 he certainly would make the team better--we would have a true 3rd scorer In the SL---melo felton hendersen in the S with two scorers on the bench smith and amare and the rest of the team could be defensive guys like shumpert tyson martim etc... 6.5-7mm avg would not change our salary structure and you get guaranteed value for 4 years with the pick.

Im always wary of a guy who cant even put up great stats on a BAD team. I prefer Shumpert to Henderson to be honest.

Shariff Abdul Rahim anyone?

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I'm hoping it depends on how far we go in the playoffs. Perhaps if we go deep, ECF, Finals, then he will have that taste for another go 'round.
