Marion was very good this year and would be really good here. To me higher priority is Kenyon Martin and JR Smith. Moving out that 5+m would be one more step 4ward to not only acquiring a player that will really help us next year--but making sure we keep the more important players.

Marion is on his last legs. Chandler is a true center who was DPOY last year. Maybe Marion from 5 years ago, but no way do you make that trade next year.

The only trade that really make since to me is Ilyasova and Sanders for Chandler. Will that happen, no.

I would rather wait till he goes to school this summer with O'keem the Dream this summer. If he can learn some moves and be able to make some shots I say I'd rather wait.

haha, Juwan Howard is a savvy veteran and Shump has the playoff jitters, it would be an absolute steal!

Shawn Marion?

We not talking about the playoffs that we have worked all season to get to. We not talking about surviving injuries, doubt, shift changes and potential mutiny. We not talkin about goin 54-28.

We talkin bout Shawn Marion.

Shawn Marion

We talkin bout Shawn Marion.

who are we talking about ? I'm not really sure by reading the topic and your answer ...

Are we talking bout Shawn Kemp ?

Some of these threads are hilarious, thank you for pointing it out in an hilarious way

I know everyone has forgotten what a defensive stud Chandler can be because he didn't dominate this season. All I know is that I want him on the Knicks if/when the Knicks are up by one and LeBron James has the ball with 15 seconds left in the game

This year has been so different with Chandler compared to last. I don't know what is up.... could be that he knows he needs to save his fouls for the last quarter or whatever - Knicks just didn't have backup big - but he is a different man. And now the neck thing.

Chandler expires in 2 years along with Amare. No sense is moving him unless we are getting upgrades at other positions and play small ball.

unfortunately I am in complete agreement... I just seem to like Chandler's ability to dig deep when it really matters more than the uk.com majority. I know I'm in the minority - and that's okay - but I just happen to think he deserves slack after his great year last season.

I can't remember who the Knicks played earlier this year, but I do remember Tyson guarded a PG on a final possession this season and got a block that secured a victory. I also like that when Woody staples him to the bench he never complains. He's certainly earned fewer minutes this season but I cna't think of another All Star that would handle it as professionally as Chandler

The only chandler deal that would make sense is for Jordan and Bledsoe, or something to that effect. Trading Chandler for anything that isn't a major upgrade at another position is not good.

agreed. Not sure how the Knicks survive without a dominant C with Melo at the 4, even if Chandler has been off this year.... in a 50+ win year.

+1

As uneven as Chandler has been, you can't get equal value replacing him. How many DPOY caliber centers are out there besides Howard and Gasol? Hibbert has been coming on lately, but has sucked for most of this season. Deandre Jordan wouldn't be half as good without CP3 spoon feeding him, and Bynum can't even stay on the court. Bogut will always be an injury liability, and even though Asik has had a nice double double season, it seems like he's playing way over his head.

I look at it this way. If Tyson Chandler is going to give me 5 pts and 7 rebounds while we get harassed in the paint in the playoffs--hes worth much lower than 14,5mm. Id like to get a nice sum for him as well(although I highly doubt it) or Id like to see him actually play well in the playoffs. If he does not give it to me in this playoffs--then I would love to move his 14mm for less money and redistribute it to those who will. Also I can make a case that Tyson is on his last legs. Hes going to be 13 years in the league and has missed nearly 40 games the last 2 years. Way too much $$$ to injury prone athletes. Now time for Tyson to channel his inner Kenyon Martin and give me 14-8-2 0 pts and 5 rebounds---I could do that for the Knicks:)

Briggs, you give a lot of good insights but you seem to have a short memory. Countless times I've seen you build a guy up to superhero status after a good run or down to junk after a bad run. This is the same guy you said had saved our season not too long ago. Injured players don't produce well. You don't trade a guy every time he gets injured.

Almost every player is injured in the playoffs--either you can play or you cant. Kenyon Martin had to be carted off the court a week ago. He came to play. What happened to Tyson chandler last year in the playoffs? Come to play.

I'm counting 16 games this season and 4 games last season Tyson's missed. Kenyon's been terrific, but let's not write the guy off so soon. We just lost Sheed and Kurt due to age, Camby's no where to be seen, STAT's busy making our DL look phenomenal, and even K-Mart has missed 7 of our last 8 regular season games. Not quite ready to count on Barron to fill the void every night.

unless you are Melo or Amar'e then you wait until the play well then trade them while their value are high.

Jordan and Bledsoe are not upgrades over Shump and Chandler. Jordan doesn't have a post game and he is a worse FT shooter.
